budget Brakes Nolensville rd Nashville is a Joke! why are they selling brakes.  I can almost guarantee that if you've been to one of these places you left paying for something you didn't need.  I bought brakes a year or two back, one of my pads started to sqeek, took it back to them.  All I wanted was my pads replaced like my life time warranty specified, the gerk comes back stated that I needed drums, rotors and etc... It's bull because I just had it checked minutes before taking it to them. they stated I just needed brakes.   How about $487.00 is what he came back with.  Then he had the audacity to say how much can you afford, What! who does that?  SCAM!!!. Give me what I came there for, which are  breaks pads only.  He then says you think it suppose to be free...YES, that's what I paid on the initial visit.   YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

DON'T DO IT. GO TO SOMEWHERE ELSE.  YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET.  DON'T BE THE NEXT ONE TO WRITE A MESSAGE ON RIPOFF.

With any disagreement, there are two sides to the story. There is some very relevant information that has been left out. So to be a little more precise, let's tell the whole story of the events that led up to the current post.

The customer returned to budget brakes,  complaining of squeaking brakes, after almost 5 years, and close to 90,000 miles on the brakes that we installed.

After the inspection of the vehicles brake system, we determined (per maufacturer specifications) the car needed new brake pads, disc brake hardware, brakes rotors, brake drums, cleaning and adjusting of the rear brakes. The vehicle also needed 1 wheel stud and lug nut,  as per the customers approval,  we had to break one to remove the wheels.

Brake pads and shoes carry a lifetime guarantee against defective material or workmanship, all other parts for 1 year or 12,000 miles. This warranty does not cover the cost to restore the brake system to its proper operation and does not apply if specific parts were installed by a third party other than budget brakes.

We did ask customer what he was able to spend today in order to determine what parts would be best to replace now and come up with a plan to have the other service done at a later date.

Thank you

Kevin

Budget Brakes does not have any locations in Georgia, you may want to look at your invoice to determine who worked on your vechicle.

Same Thing Happened To Me Too...

The same thing happened to me although I was not in Tennessee I was in Atlanta, GA. This was a few years ago and I stopped by Budget Brakes in Atlanta, GA to get a price on brakes. When I pulled up in the front of the building I was immediately wary of the place because there were no other cars there and this was in the middle of the day. No one was in the building except the two guys working there and they both appeared dishevelled and ungroomed. The black man was behind the desk and he immediatley called out the white guy who was the "slick talker".

My car was a very new model car but because I did so much driving I was told I needed brakes. The white guy took my car around the back and came back and immediately I grew suspicious. He had a long piece of paper in his hand and he called me up. He told me that my rotors were bad and said I needed something else on the car too. It was a few years back and whatever else he said I needed slipped my mind.

But then he quoted me around $500 for the rotors and alignment and brakes. I was in college at the time and away from home and family and not really working and I told him I could not afford that. He grew impatient. He told me he would go ahead and put the brakes on my car but that he would not warranty them unless I had the rotors done. I told him I needed to call my father. He pointed to his phone and wanted me to call my dad right then and there. I was lying when I asked to call my father. I just wanted to get the heck away from there.

I told him I would have to come back the next day to get the rotors replaced. He said he would "hold my warranty" until then. When I left I stopped by another brake shop and asked to have my rotors checked. The man put my car on this machine and lifted my car about 5 feet off the ground to fully inspect my rotors. He also used some other equipment while they were spinning. Then he came to me highly upset. He said that my rotors were fine and that I didn't need new ones. He said he was suspicious as well when I asked as my car was very new. He asked me where had I gone and I told him Budget Brakes and he said the place had been sued so many times for defrauding people and they would only  file bankruptcy and go under a new name. Over and over. He then called them and proceeded to curse them out in front of me and he told me it was crooks like them that give the profession a bad name.

He then said that they had put $6.00 brakes on my car. The very brakes the guy told me he could not warranty were purchased at Autozone and were $6.00 brake pads.

These guys were crooks all the way around. Thanks for posting your story.
