Complaint Review: BUENA VISTA IOWA SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT - STORM LAKE Iowa

In 1998, my adult son and I moved to Storm Lake Iowa. At the time I was 50 years old and my son was 30.

We rented an apartment from a Bob Eberle who claimed he was an apartment manager for a company called 'Robinson Realty'. This complex consisted of two four-plex apartment buildings. I have as yet been unable to find the company who owned these apartments at the time, although I am still trying.

Almost immediately after moving in, Mr. Eberle took it upon himself to start making remarks that I believed to be of a sexually offensive nature. I warned him to stop. I told him if he did not, that I would file a complaint with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, (which I did shortly after). When I informed Mr. Eberle of my intent, he blurted out 'don't do that, we've already been fined by them for discriminating against families with children'.

About a week after filing the complaint, I thought I noticed a sheriffs vehicle following me around town. When I told my son about this he told me that sometimes law enforcement in small towns will follow an unfamiliar vehicle in order to read the license plates to see who it is driving the car.

However the incidents of being followed increased until I could not leave my apartment without a sheriffs vehicle being behind my car.

One afternoon, after picking up my son from the plant that he worked in, we were followed by a sheriffs vehicle right into the parking lot of the apartment complex. I screamed to my son, 'a sheriffs car is following us right into our parking lot.' My son immediatley jumped out of the car and started screaming and waving at him to stop. He wanted to know why we were being followed.

The sheriffs vehicle took off at lightening speed.

The next day a deputy knocked on our door and handed me something called a 'notice to quit' and that we had five days to vacate the apartment.

I called a local attorney and was told that with a month to month rental, we could be evicted at anytime for any reason. I found out much later that this was totally incorrect.

We left within the 5 day time frame given to us. We decided to return to Arizona. Because of increasing health and financial problems, I decided not to pursue the claim against Mr. Eberle. **An almost fatal mistake which had an extremely negative effect on mine and my son's life

My son began having problems with finding jobs after this incident. He had applied to the Arizona Department of Corrections. He passed all of the tests with flying colors, however, he was told there seemed to be a little 'problem' with his 'psychological profile'. They wanted him to come in to talk with a 'professional' to see if he was mentally fit for the job.

Prior to this my son had been employed as a CNA, licensed by the state of Arizona, for almost 11 years. He had an impeccable record as a nurse assistant with excellent references. Now he was having trouble getting his license renewed and employment. So he applied to two former employers who remembered his good work ethic. Both wanted to rehire him.

If it wasn't for these two Directors of Nursing we would have been homeless and jobless. Did I forget to say that this was the beginning of our adventures in car living? Unable to pay his bills, my son's credit rating was destroyed.

**Oh yes, my son was also audited by the Iowa Internal Revenue Service! (almost forgot that).

We could never find any permanent housing after this and we never were able to find out what we were accused of doing in the first place!

Did you know that it is illegal in America to be homeless? It is also impossible to get auto insurance for the same reason. Because of this in 2003 I lost my drivers license which I held in good standing since 1965.

Because of these evil 'people' my son and I endured 10 years of hell, which continues to this day by way of him being harrassed from job to job. As I said prior to this 'eviction' in Storm Lake, my son had an impeccable job record.

MY son obtained training as a CDL OTR driver.

He is an excellent driver and really loves life on the road and the job. But when he starts a new job, in about 2 weeks the harrassment starts.

His newest employer said something very telling I think. My son went to him to see if he could settle a problem with the short amount of time his dispatcher was giving him to get to a customers location. The supervisor said to him, "there is no conspiracy now", "its just the way things are". My son never mentioned any conspiracy. He was just asking for more time for deliveries.

With each job he has held, he has been falsely accused at various times of knocking down customers fences, destroying their property, etc. Prior to obtaining his CDL license, he got employment one last time as a CNA in Nebraska. Almost as if on que, two weeks into his employment he was falsely accused of vandalizing a rest room in the nursing home! Remember this is someone who prior to living in Storm Lake Iowa had never been accused of any untoward behavour.

The real horror of all of this is we can't prove anything is amiss.

I can only say that at the ages of 50 and 30 people who have never been involved in any untoward or criminal behavour, do not start acting badly at this late age.

I had been renting apartments for almost 30 years prior to moving to Storm Lake Iowa and I have **never** been evicted or asked to leave any rental property for any reason! Neither has my son.

I am now 60 years old and in very poor health, with some very serious life threatening illness's to deal with. However I have defeated my fear of death absolutely and because of my suffering I have learned who is actually in control of the world and this country. It is not 'by and for the people'.

Don't count me out yet though. I still have a lot of exposing to do because

unfortunately for me my story does not end in Storm Lake Iowa.

If it's the only thing I can do to get justice then I will continue to expose all of the guilty!

To the Buena Vista Sheriffs Department: How dare you destroy the lives of two totally innocent peope at the request of a business. This is how 'business' rules now in this country.
