Buy.com ripoff fradulent advertising, doesn't honor rebates Aliso Viejo California
I purchased a cell phone through Buy.com on June 25, 2004. The advertisement online showed the Nokia 3100 cell phone with a price of $49.99 then receiving $150.00 in rebates. It showed making a profit of $100.01 after rebates. After receiving the phone & waiting for a copy of my cell phone bill, I sent in the 2 rebate forms, 1 for $50 and 1 for $100 & waited.
Finally in November, 2004 I received 2 rebate checks...1 for $50 & 1 for $20. I am still missing $80. I have called several times throughout this whole process. Buy.com keeps blaming the rebate company-Inphonic & Inphonic keeps blaming Buy.com for advertising incorrectly. Neither wants to pay the rebates or take responsibility.
My advice is to be very careful when purchasing anything from Buy.com with a rebate. Do not assume that the rebate checks will come...because they probably won't.
