CAMCO Capital Acquisitions And Management Co. ripoff THEY ALMOST GOT ME! ROCKFORD Illinois
Like so many others, I too got a letter saying that I owed money from an old Citibank card that was closed out 15 years ago. Though the debt was $760, they offered to "clear" it right away for only $361. Just coming back from vacation, I went ahead and paid them over the phone with a check. I couldn't put my finger on it, but something just didn't seem right.
After about ten minutes, I Googled CAMCO and didn't find anything... then I Googled their full name and WAHOO! My suspicions were correct! I stopped the check at once, of course. I never thought I, with my BS and MA and "superior" intellect, could fall for a scam. I've been humbled with a good swift kick in the pants!
