Made the mistake of purchasing a Pioneer AVIC-N4 from this company. Advertised price was within normal limits, and they were semi-local so shipping time was quick (reason for ordering).

Supposed "free ground shipping" turned into an $80 handling/insurance charge. Pricing on internet order varied from what was stated after having to call by phone and confirm order (by over $500).

Tried to sell numerous accessories, and told I had to buy at least a 3 year extended service contract (finally removed from order after I refused for the 10th time).

Then asked if I wanted the "USA" or "Import" model AVIC-N4. I currently have the N2 model and had never heard of there being different versions (other than Euro and North America). Asked what the differences were, received the fastest talking explanation ever (I think the guy on the other end of the phone used to make the micro-machines commercials). Finally came to an agreement, but I immediately called customer service. At least the customer service guy gave me suitable answers to the differences of my online order verse what I was told after having to call and confirm.

I kindly/sternly said I want to cancel order, I had been mislead and was not comfortable ordering from them. Was told canceling the order would not be a problem, he would have to transfer me. I waited on hold for approximately 5-10 minutes, talked to another gentleman who stated it was "too late" to cancel order, as it had been packaged and made ready for shipment, but that they had accidentally shipped me the upgraded model instead of the "base" unit I had originally ordered, and that I should be happy to have saved the money. Also mentioned that they would credit me an additional $36 because of the $80 handling/insurance fee.

They would not let me cancel the order, even though the item had not shipped yet.
