I was in Florida on vacation, and was looking for a waterproof camera. I found Camera & Lenses full page ad in the "Enjoy Florida" magazine, and decided that they looked like a large camera store, and would have some good deals, or at least sell their cameras for the same price that you see on the internet.

I had done a little research on the internet, so I had some idea of the price of a waterproof camera, but I had not brought my paperwork with me, to remind me of the exact cameras I was interested in. My original choice was a Cannon, and when I asked about that, the sales clerk said they did not carry Cannon cameras, and did not recommend them. He showed me a couple of other models, and I finally decided on a Fujifilm Fine Pix camera. They told me that for me the price was something ridiculous like $600 or $700, but they could give it to me for $355.00. I knew that was around the price of some of the cameras I had seen, so I didn't argue it, even though I was a little sceptical.

After selling me a camera case and memory card, I paid with my credit card. On the receipt they didn't show what the original price was, and any discount, which I thought was strange, and they didn't put down each item seperately. I walked out of the store not feeling quite right, got into my car, which was right infront of the store, so I called a friend of mine to look the camera up on the internet, and she told me the price was $169.00. I walked back into the store and asked for my money back. All this took less than 5 minutes. The sales clerk in the store said that they do not take returns and no refunds. He said he would offer me another memory card, and I told him that I wanted my money back, which he said he was not authorised to do. Finally after a lot of arguing, he did give me a $120 refund for the camera, but I've still been ripped off for the memory card etc. I now wish I had left the camera in the store and refused to pay it on my credit card.

I do not recommend anyone to go to this store to buy anything. After talking with a local, she told me that the locals shop in the Florida Mall stores, as they have better prices. I now know this for the next time I am in Florida.
