In October 2008 I wished to apply for a pardon and I found Canadianpardons.ca online. Their so called service cost me over $1000.00. They have a package deal that was supposed to include a U.S. trave waiver. I ended up spending more money getting printed and records checked. I then had to mail all of this to Ottawa for processing. You will quickly notice that you yourself are doing 95% of the work involved and spending even more of your own money. Over a year went by and in December 2008 I phoned their 1-800 number only to be givin a toll line if I wanted to speak with anyone. Now I was getting charged for long distance calls to them. I was then sent to Leone's voice mail. I left a message and asked what was taking so long for this to be finished. The only time I got a response from the countless emails that I sent was to tell me via email that my pardon had been granted back in November 2009 and that the paper work was sent out long ago. At that time Leone stated that another package of final paper work documents would be sent out that day and to expect it in a couple of weeks. Of course again they never sent it out. Finally after getting no response via long distance calls always sent to voice mail and via endless emails, I contacted the Parole board of Canada myself. I then found out my pardon application had actually been approved back in September not November like Canadian pardon service had claimed. They instructed me to write them a letter of request and they would forward my pardon documents. Once again I was on my own to solve this problem without the assistance of Canadian pardon service. On Candian pardon service's front web page the 1-800 number is very large print to make you believe that contacting them would be free. Their website email to customer care actually encourages you to write them saying they "appreciate your feedback". Getting my pardon final documents will be good finally but I am sure they never ever processed any application for a U.S. travel waiver. THIS COMPANY HAS THE POOREST SERVICE OUT THERE!!!!! Since being RIPPED OFF by Canadianpardons.ca I have seen other companies online that really do provide expert service and include all the incidentals that I had to pay after the fact. Now I know and now YOU know too so BEWARE!!!

Did you know that this company also goes by Record Suspension Services, and is also doing EXACTLY the same thing to me! Infact I also just filed with the BBB, and have also been jerked around by these people. Sadly this industry is UN-REGUALTED in Canada, Visa will not perform Charge Backs against this compnay, citing they "Have cleverly protected themselves in wording of their co tracts", either.

This conpany is a complete scam. You are right, they do nothing. Stay Away.

I feel sorry for this customer, because now I too have to go through all this crap.

In a nutshell, these guys took $1800 of my money and did nothing for 17 months insisting that they sent out the forms for me to complete. I offered to pick them up at their offices, they refused to allow me access. Instead they agreed to send them again. Never received them, and launched a BBB complain. Only after another 6 months and calls to the government, Consumer Protection, did they agree to refund me, minus a processing fee of over $200. In the end something back was better than nothing.

I then worked with a smaller service and have gotten my application submitted. Unfortunately for me the near 24 months of screwing around with these clowns resulted in my getting my application in just before the recent changes at the Parole Board of Canada. Now I might have to wait a few years while they process newer applications under the new legislation first.

If I would have gotten the application in when I started dealing with these clowns I would have been finished now. Instead it looks like my pardon application might be completed after I am no longer alive. No kidding, the reason for my pardon application was in hope to leave this earth as I came onto it an even clean slate...not the case it seems.

Thanks!!

CANADIANPARDONS.CA IS THE RIPOFF COMPANY TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR

Since Canadianpardons.ca  have neglected to solve this horrible ripoff service problem for over 3 years I got them confused with another site. After all it has been 3 years of inaction but I see they were quick to jump on that mistake. This is very typical of their company. Any loophole they can use to avoid culpability, they will surely try every time as I have experienced. ALSO TAKE SPECIAL NOTE THAT CANADIANPARDONS.CA IS LISTED 58 TIMES AT THE BBB WITH COMPLAINTS. THEY PRESENTLY HAVE A "D" LISTING AT THE BBB WEBSITE.

Formal Complaints Responded to Within 7 Days

Because your initial complaint referenced CanadianPardons.ca, I would like to make you further aware of Section 17 in our Terms & Conditions (available readily on our website, and received by each client upon registration):

"All complaints must be sent in writing to [email protected], must specifically address the exact nature of the complaint, and will be responded to in writing within 7 (seven) business days, where possible. During that period, CPS will review the file, speak to the clients case worker, determine if resolution is possible, and do our utmost to ensure the clients satisfaction.

Oftentimes, the nature of the complaint may be related to factors outside of the control of CPS, such as courts or the RCMP delaying the transmission of requested documents, fingerprints, or other materials. In cases such as these, resolution within 7 business days may not be possible, as CPS will have petitioned the responsible body and may be awaiting their reply, without which no further action can be taken."

If you submitted your complaint as directed above and did not receive a response, please let us know immediately, along with supporting documentation.  If your only method of complaint was through this anonymous online post, there is certainly no guaranteed time frame in which you can expect a response.

FOR SHAME THREE YEARS TO RESPOND

#12Author of original report

WOW!!! It only took Canadian Pardon Services.ca THREE YEARS to respond to my customer dissatisfaction. This company is nothing more than a RIPOFF!!! I finally had to obtain my pardon myself directly from Ottawa no thanks to Canadian Pardon Services .ca I also paid for a U.S. travel waiver which I never ever did receive. As well about 6 months back I was chatting with a fellow employee at work and discovered he too was "DUPED" by Canadian Pardon Services.ca He is presently fighting to obtain his finished pardon which of course they say is "In the Mail" I must say I take exception to the fact that it took 3 years to respond but what makes me especially angry is the statement made in their rebuttal saying that I must prove what I say is true. Believe me when I say that their company has cost me much time and frustration as well as money which is why I am in disbelief that they would think I like this in any way!!!

We're sorry you had what you consider to be a less-than-satisfactory experience with Canadian Pardon Services.

As you mentioned, we do encourage individuals to contact us, and we do appreciate the feedback we receive and use it to improve our services.  We listened to client concerns, and modified the manner in which calls are directed to and received by our caseworkers.  We have had a very positive response to these changes, and invite you to contact your waiver caseworker directly at 416 251 1900, ext. 4.

In regards to the above phone number, we would like to make it clear that all clients receive an initial welcome package after signing up with our company.  In that package the contact information for their personal caseworker is both highlighted and displayed prominently.  There is no attempt at hiding it, nor do we feel we are misleading clients into believing that there is a toll-free number for that particular department.  For anyone not wishing to incur potential long-distance charges, personal email addresses for each caseworker assigned to a file are also included in the welcome package.

Above all else, in reference to your experience using Canadian Pardon Services, I ask that you please provide direct proof of your claim that the company "obviously never sent out" your documents.  Please contact us directly with your proof so that we can investigate this claim appropriately.
