Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Sharing in hopes to help patients within the canna communities; I suspect that several of you are already aware of this scam and wanted to raise awareness in hopes that someone else will not taken for this ride-

How does it work? I’ve know of two different approaches this guy is using to get his victims…

Scenario 1- “I’m your friend and can help you in need”: In scenario 1 the scammer works his/her magic by becoming “friends” and sympathizing with patient. This is how it goes… A posting is made by the victim inquiring about cannabis who is from/in a non-recreational or severely restricted MM state.

The victim receives a message from a “concerned grower or advocate” who has lots of access in Cali and Colorado. However, you may notice that the FB profile does not have history and is “FAKE” looking. The dialog begins, if asked about profile, victim is told up front it is new and used to connect with new people; at some point online MM supplies are offered for sale for medical relief to the patient as an option and of course everything has to be on the DL since the patient is in restricted state. See the “The Scam” for details from here…

Scenario 2- Online advertising in Facebook: In scenario 2 the scammer does not necessarily target MM patients; s/he is after anyone desperate or dumb enough to see his/her ad and contact them about online M products…

The Scam: The Patient/victim is provided link to an online store which appears legitimate, they place a small test order online to see if this is for REAL. Then they’ll select from few different options for payment (Bitcoin, Western Union, and something else) a separate email is sent with payment instructions, payment is made and the victim receives a tracking number for their shipment via “EMS”; everything goes through according to plan.

Patient/victim places their next order which is usually much larger (Ave scam has been around $600) due to decent pricing on meds, sends money order, a few days pass the victim eagerly checks the “EMS” shipping site for updates sees that nothing has changed and inquires on the issue… the Scammer responds and says that due to the size, EMS is requiring an additional $350 or more in “refundable insurance” to be purchased via MONEY ORDER… Victim informs scammer they have no $ for insurance, they don’t understand why they have to pay additional fees to get what they paid for and feel pressured to give more $ to recover their package. The scammer will tell the victim there is no way for them to retrieve the package from EMS or refund, if they want the transaction to be completed, they must send another money order. If the victim pays, they just get scammed out of more $.; the scammer will continue contacing the victim saying if the insurance is not paid, customs will hand the packet over to the FBI, resulting in further "issues" for the victim- PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM

Note- This scammer has created a FAKE Shipping Tracker Site,- to support this scam using a real shipping handler’s name (EMS) - they simply just ripped off the name and redeveloped a site to support the scam.
