Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was harrassed by Capital First who repeatedly left messages on my answering machine telling me to call them about an application I had filled out. I knew I hadn't filled out any application so of course I didn't call them back. I guess they finally figured out that I'm not home on weekdays so last Saturday they called me at least THREE times IN ONE DAY--actually within the span of only a couple of hours--with different telemarketers each time (as if I wouldn't realize it was the same people).

At first I thought Capital First was a bank so I told the first guy I already had a bank, and he politely hung up.

The next guy told me he had an application I filled out, I told him I never filled out an application and I didn't want any credit cards. I also told him not to call me anymore.

Then there were several calls where I'd pick up and there wasn't anyone on the line. I'm sure this was also Capital first because this happened before the first call too.

When the phone rang next my roommate picked it up and gave it to me. I said, "hello". The woman said, "Hi this is Angela," and nothing else. I said, "Angela who?". Then she told me she was from Capital First and she was calling about my application. I told her I didn't want any card and said, "Please take me off your calling list." (I heard if you say that they can't legally call you back.) She said I wasn't on a calling list (yeah right), and that I filled out an application. I told her I never filled out an application. She said, "Well I have it here in front of me." I asked where the application came from. She didn't know. I told her I KNEW that I never filled out any application because I don't want any credit cards. (I was getting pretty annoyed at this point).

THEN she threatened me by saying, "Okay, ma'am, that's another DEROGATORY MARK on your CREDIT." I wanted to know where this supposed application came from so I asked her on what date was it filled out, and she HUNG UP ON ME!!

Now I'm worried about my credit and mad at Capital First for harassing me.

If they call you again, told them that you reported them to the FBI, FTC, the FL Attorney General, and the credit bureaus for Identity Theft ... They cannot touch your credit report, do not worry. Btw they do NOT have your application, exactly that is why they calling you to get more information SSN, DOB, checking account number. AND the most important: DO report them to the FL Attorney General and FTC. Economic Crimes - Fort Lauderdale Office Economic Crimes Division Office of the Attorney General 110 SE 6th St Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301-5000 Phone: 954-712-4600 Fax: 954-712-4658 www.ftc.gov And send them some copies of Rip-off Reports.,
