Capital Management Services Harrassing phone calls meant for another party yet they refuse to stop calling. Buffalo New York
This company is unbelievable. About 5 months ago they began calling me and leaving messages on my phone for a person I'll call S.M. in order to avoid using her name. I've never met this person, I don't know who she is and I've had my phone number (unlisted) for the past 5 and a half years. I ignored the first few messages believing that they would realize that they had the wrong number.
After receiving messages on a daily basis for approximately 2 weeks, I finally contacted the company and quite nicely explained that I was not the person they were trying to contact and that I didn't know that person. I asked them to please stop calling me. I was told that they would take my number off of their records.
Approximately 3 days later, the calls resumed, still referencing S.M. and her apparently delinquent account with a creditor. I again called them, asked to speak with a manager and when I was transferred (not to a manager but to the person who had been calling), I was again told that my number would be deleted from their file.
The calls still continued. I just kept deleting them for a while without contacting the company but it was annoying to have messages from them daily so I tried yet again a few weeks later. I am not able to get to a manager or supervisor. I have only spoken with the man who has called (Marcus) leaving these annoying messages. He was rude and beligerent, insinuating that I was indeed this S.M. person or that I at least knew her. I once again tried to explain to this company that I was not this person, that I've had the same unlisted phone number for over 5 years and that I wanted them to stop calling and harrassing me.
This time I was transferred to another person who told me yet again that the number would be deleted from the file and I would receive no more phone calls. Unfortunately, it was yet again a lie. I have called a total of 6 times now, still unable to get to a manager. After being verbally abused and literally yelled at today, in addition to being called this S. M. person by name, I filed a complaint with the NY BBB and with the California State Attorney General.
I sincerely doubt that anything will be done, however I am at my wits end with trying to get this company to stop calling me. I will be contacting the associations they have listed as having memberships with tomorrow in an effort to alert those companies as to the practices of one of their members. In addition, I will be contacting my phone company to see if there is anything I can do through them to stop these phone calls.
I'm not certain that filing this report will do anything either but I am so frustrated with this entire situation that I am trying everything I can think of to alert others regarding this company.

Denise: The exact same thing has happened to me. I also filed reports with the BBB. I did some research and found some e-mail addresses of people at Capital Management Services. Here is the e-mail of the Chariman of the company. I have about 4 others but do not know their postions. Let me know if you need the others, or if the California Attorney General does anything. In the meantime I will also contact the Tennessee Attorney General. If anyone knows of a any attorney that has taken or will take action against this company let me know.
