I applied for several jobs online on Careerbuilder.com apparently through this company Career Networks. Their ads online looked legitimate, but I was suspicious as soon as you exited careerbuilder, you are prompted to fill out personal contact information, AND are asked questions about Furthering your education, improving credit scores, etc. Well, I went through the whole thing anyway, being curious. After that, you get several emails stating the same as what several Posters have on this site: limited time, you've been selected for blah-blah blah position..if you click on their link, takes you back to the same forms, questions again.

Today, i received a CALL from Jeff, claiming he is VERY impressed with my skills, was evaluating for a job I "applied" to for the "employer", but wanted to know how serious I am about furthering my education, because I was up against tough competition for this job, but because he felt I had impressive qualifications, other than my education, compelled to help me further into the interview process. He asked several HR-type questions like: what would you say is your strongest trait to bring with you to a new group, environment, etc....As we talked, he said "well, i definitely feel we can help further you along this process"; he gave me another number to call 321-249-1490 saying to tell them that Jeff referred me, and this was the Senior Advising Group, and in short - they would make strong recommendations to the employer to interview me if they know that I was serious about taking some courses online. As Jeff said - shows employer that I have initiative and want to better my education level.

Jeff got abit testy with me when i started questioning him about their tactics, he finished up saying well, we all have choices to make, and hopefully you make the ones to help you get the most in all situations. And he also said, you're the one that applied to the job and we're just trying to help people like you get a job.

So just out of curiosity, i called the 321-249-1490 - got recording it is an educational advising type thing...I didn't wait long enough to talk to anyone.

yes, SHAME on people like that trying to profit from others' unfortunate situation.
