Casas In Mexico Aka Sergio Wurth And Enrique Felgueres They took money from brokers and never paid them after they sold properties Miami, Cancun, New York, Mexico Nationwide
The people handling the commercial side of a project in North Cancun called La Amada by the names of Enrique Felgueres and Sergio Wurth principals of a company called Casas in Mexico LLC with base in Florida but that runs out of Mexico DF and Cancun managed to steal a huge ammount of money and never pay the brokers that really made the sales.
This company is run by 2 unscrupulous individuals who conned real estate brokers across the world. They seem like nice people but in truth you have to be extremely careful if you ever do business with them.
The ammount of commisions that they stold just for LA AMADA sales is approximately 200,000 usd but this ammount could be much higher if more real estate brokers step up and say how much was taken from them.
Until this moment there are brokers in Mexico, Colombia, USA and Canada that have been affected.
Casas in Mexico would con them by telling the agents they would get 4 to 6 per cent commisions. After the buyers that the real estate agents brought to the table would purchase the property the developer would pay Mr Wurth and Mr Felgueres. They in turn were supposed to inmediately pay the brokers that refered the clients but instead they would pocket all the money and never pay the agents whom they had agreements with and who really made the sales.
Another sad story for the real estate industry.

Americans can own in Mexico as long as they follow the laws related to trusts in that country and they also must state any of their offshore properties clearly in their tax returns in the US. Thank you for your comment but that is another issue unrelated to this case in which hard working real estate brokers were conned and never paid for their services.

I don't think Americans can own property in Mexico, if you were going to buy property in a different country, it is best to know the laws.
