I did a loan through this company because I like others was in a hard spot. Never was I told until my first payment was due that the interest rate was 99.99%. that means that in the end I will pay over $11,000 for a $2500 loan. I lost my job and wasnt making any money for about 4 months. These people called me everyday atleast 20 times a day. They called my old employer everyday the same amount of times too.

Then they sent me FAKE law suit papers in the mail claiming they where going to sue me for $11,000. and put a lein against my house. When my house is in my husbands name and his name isnt even on my loan anywhere. There has to be something that we can do stop these scamming people. They say they are a help place. THATS TOTAL BS. Im willing to pay the amount i owe back but these people are ridiculous. Has anyone found anything out? Im thinking about contacting a lawyer and filing suit against them.

Usury Limits

#2Consumer Suggestion

I'm not sure how this company is governed on its lending practices, but I would think it would still be bound by the usury limits imposed by the state in which it is located/incorporated or where the contract is negotiated. I have noticed in other forums that mention has been made of this company filing bulk small claims/civil suits in different jurisdictions. It might be in your best interest to attempt to find an attorney willing to look at the contract that you negotiated with this company and determine if it is legal and binding. Good luck!

Look in Pennsylvania we have a nice law called the Fair Credit Uniformity Extension Act which was put into place in 2000. The acts extends to orginial creditors. Please look it up. It explains that what they can and can not do in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania they can not put a lein on your house, car, etc if they debt is not directly tied to these items. SO, please, please check the law in our state. Also please go to the PA Department of Banking Website. They have a lot of information there. Many people think that Cash Call comes under the Federal Fair Debt and Collections Act. It does not, because the Federal Statute is only for third party collectors, Cash Call in this case would be the orginal creditor. Anyway go and look up the law. Also look up the case (it on the Pennsylvania Attorney General's website) about the Ameriquest Settlement. I really wish that I could give you my e-mail address so that you and I and other PA folks can become a concerted effort in this matter. But please, post updates and I will check in on you. Good Luck! Let's Get'Em in PA

Take the time to look through all the complaints with this company. I too did the same s**t and want to kick myself for getting involved with them. Lost my job and you could not talk to these people. They threaten, harrass and just plain become a pain in your a**. My husband is terminally ill and they went as far as to tell me not to buy his medication, but to pay them. That is where I drew the line on them. We all know that Blah Blah Blah of you took out the loan and we want it all back. Then except what we can give you and stop mounting the charges and taking from our banks whenever you please. That is what just killed me and I had no choice but to close the account. Keep you chin up, hang on/ there not worth the battle of the wits. Tell them what I do, take me to court...give a reason to win. Hang up on them....there not worth the stress...and don't take to heart the people the send you a rebuttal...NOT in your favor. This is just some of there puppy dogs out there. Send them a box of kleenex to wipe the brown off there noses. Just read read read and you will just laugh laugh laugh. Don't give up! What it is worth, save the monies that you were loaned and wait for the court date. If they show, pay them off and if not..well that is there loss. I am sure before long this company will go bye, bye, bye...just like flushing a toilet. But, as all bad smells they will return with another name. PS....Don't let them tell you they will come to your door, your not in California. If anything they will send out a scared rabbit to throw a piece of paper on your walk. That is all I have to say....have a good day.

The lure of easy money

Cashcall, like payday loan companies, banked on the lure of easy money. I believe you, when you state you did not understand the interest rate on the loan - not because it is not disclosed, rather that the documentation can be confusing. If you went to their website prior to the loan, the interest rate is clearly defined. Make no mistake, for this amount of money, they will very likely sue you. This is where you have a genuine problem. Pennsylvania is a community property/community debt state. IF you obtained this loan during your marriage, and if the house was purchased during your marriage you may find a lien against the house will be placed. This will affect your husbands credit as well as any future ability to refinance or sell the home until the debt is resolved. If you obtained the loan during the marriage he can also be held financially responsible for it. You do need a lawyer. Not to sue Cashcall, rather to try and negotiate this situation on your behalf. They may be able to work out a solution that prevents the lien on the house.
