CashMaxLoans emailed me and said i approved for a loan. I called them back and they said to continue the process that i would have to go to my local cvs with cash and purchase a $50 money voucher and to call her back when it was received . When i got to the store she then said to purchase an amazon gift card for $50 then to send a picture to the email provided of both the recipient and back of the card. Then she said to wait 10 mintues for her to process it but didnt call back. After 30 minutes i knew something wasn't right so i looked up on Google and found a company called cash max and saw that it was a different number and called to seeif i had an account on file or application. She said no and i mentioned if she knew if anyone was using thier company name to scam and she confirmed that it was not the first time shes heard of this situation. So the scammer finally calls back and now says i have to pay $125 for insurance for the loan in order for them to send the loan i applied for. I informed her that there was different number and that everything she is saying doesnt not add up she just kept repeating "You have to pay the amount of $125 to get your loan" so i hung up. And now i dont even know if ita possible to cancel an amazon gift card.

They are using a legitimate business name and one of their actual location addresses

cashmaxloans.com/ is the real company with that names website, and

1657 Tennessee St, Vallejo, CA 94590

Phone: (707) 647-7716

Is the location address they used but above is the real business phone number, I called and left a message telling them that someone is scamming people using their actual location address and a different phone number and both gmail addresses they supplied in their scam offer letter. Good rule of thumb when you are unsure if the offer is legit or if it's actually from the real company is right there in those contact emails, if they were really employees or reps from a company with multiple locations that email would be from *******@cashmaxloans.com  and not to a gmail address no legitimate business other them maybe an ebay seller or something to that nature would ever use a free gmail or any free email provider to contact them at, Just saying..

It's a scam - don't contact them at all

Two things:

1) You were scammed. There is no loan. The $50 is gone - don't send them anymore money

2) The scammer took the $50 off the gift card. Asking you to buy a gift card to get a loan is the #1 red flag that it is a scam. When you emailed a photo of the back of the card, the scammer took the funds off the card so you don't have to cancel it as the funds are gone. Check it.

This is known as the Advance Fee Loan Scam. Go to the FTC.gov website and look up this scam (and others) so you know what to look out for so you can avoid these scams.  You will probably end up on a list somewhere of successful scams and it is very possible that others may contact you in the future. So make sure you learn how to avoid scams. Never pay someone in advance for a loan. Good luck.
