United States of America#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, July 14, 2010
I received a letter today from vital recovery services saying that they are trying to collect a debt for $488 for MCI Communications. I have never had an Mci account nor have I ever gotten a loan from MCI and on my notice it is clearly marked consumer loan. I am in fact an ex MCI Communications employee. I have worked for them for 6 months back in 2003. I never got an employee loan. I am researching online to see if maybe any of the other employees have gotten the same thing. I came across your article and see that your situation is similar except I worked for them and you didn't but the bills were from the same year. The only thing I can come up with on my own behalf is someone messed up with the bookkeeping and entered my payroll check under the wrong catagory. I have been trying to contact this Vital Recovery place but their office is closed. At the time I worked for MCI back in 2003 they were in the middle of filing bankruptcy. I couldn't even get a bank to cash my payroll checks because they were marked saying they were filing bankruptcy. I only found one check cashing place willing to cash my payroll checks for me at that time. So was this their way of making that extra $$$$ cause they were in debt? At the time I was working for their IP-Relay service and ended up losing my job because I refused to assist in helping Nigerians use stolen credit cards to purchase goods from consumers. All relay services hold you against their confidentiality act which is understandable to a point. Yes keep it confident if it is a legit call from someone who really needs the service. But if you know the call is coming in as a fraud call do we really need assist in ripping these people off? When the call comes in as an international call and they claim to be in the united states wanting to purchase $50 laptops for homeless people in LEgos nigeria, I think that is a clue to hang up and go to the next caller. MCI has their way of screwing alot of people up and even ruining the relay system for people who actually need it. Now alot of people wont even allow relay calls, they tell them they need to call back with a interpreter. What the hell is up with this company? Any advice on how to fix this? I used to also work for a collection agency and I know they dont take no for an answer they just want their money.

We got a letter from CBCS yesterday stating that they've stopped collection on this account, and would request that accounts be deleted from our credit report. So, what could have been a monumental hassle has in fact been resolved with a happy ending.
