It does state in the terms and conditions that you need to cancel 24 hours before you are rebilled. In the confirmation e-mail you receive upon sign up it also states how often the subscription bills you. If you call ccbill support they can cancel it for you and tell you the next date that you are going to be billed. If you are billed on the same day that you cancel ccbill does issue a one time courtesy refund. Its the consumers responsibility to know what they are signing up for and read all of the terms and conditions before they enter in their credit card information. All sites have automatic renewals if you did not know that then you had no idea what you were signing up for and should not have entered in your credit information.

On the sign up page to the website you had signed up for it does in fact state "I certify that I am 18 years of ager or older and agree to CCBill's Terms and Conditions of this purchase...." The words 'Terms and Conditions' are actually a hyper link that will take you directly to terms and conditions of CCBill since they are the designated payment processor and have their own agreements. The reason you are unable to 'opt' out of the terms and conditions is because technically you are dealing with 2 different companies. The first company is the website itself and the second is the payment processor for the website. In order for the purchase to be made, the terms and conditions as well as privacy policies MUST be agreed to. This problem was no CCBill's fault. It was simply your fault. Before you make any purchases online, no matter how horny or desperate you are, read the terms and conditions and see what the cancellation policies are if there are recurring charges.

Hi Mark, The fastest way to resolve this problem will be to call your bank. If you paid with a visa/mastercard you have powerful recourse you may take in these situations. Since you did cancel within the free trial you have a very strong case against this particular merchant. Before you call up your bank to dispute this transactions have the following information handy: The date you canceled, and the method of cancellation i.e. email, phone, mail The last date you contacted the merchant and their response to your attempts to resolve the matter. When you contact the bank inform them that you canceled during a free trial and you were not to be charged. Most banks will give you no problem and you can generally expect the claim to be resolved within 60 calender but no later than 90 days.

If you use a website that has monthly recurring billing you should cancel well before the month is up. As I understand how ccBill works, if you sign up for the cheaper monthly recurring option (as opposed to the more expensive one time option) and IMMEDIATELY go to ccBill and cancel your billing membership, then you are still good to use the site you paid for for the 30 days but you will NOT then be rebilled because you already cancelled. That is how you avoid the problem you had. As for UberDate.com, I have used the site and was satisfied as a lot of guys emailed me, but then I did not bother paying through ccBill. Apparently you have to pay to send emails like most online dating sites, but the nice thing with UberDate, as opposed to some other dating sites, is you don't need to pay to just respond to emails, so I responded for free. I'm sure this works better for women as the guys are the ones doing the chasing. I understand your frustration, but you admitted it was in the ccBill small print and UberDate.com does mention it along with your responsibility to follow ccBill's terms and conditions. As my title said, "buyer beware" - read the terms. Also, it does not sound like a major rip-off like if ccBill were to just keep billing you month after month even though you cancelled. From UberDate.com: "You are solely responsible for cancelling an upgraded membership through www.ccbill.com. The ccBill membership calls for monthly "recurring" billing, per your agreement with ccBill and their Terms and Conditions, and UberDate.com takes no responsibility for the Member not cancelling his or her membership as prescribed by this agreement and ccBill's Terms and Conditions. Member is solely responsible for cancelling the recurring membership he or she agreed to". http://www.uberdate.com/membership.html This is the membership page you agree to when you sign up with UberDate.com. Also, isn't UberDate.com only $14.95 a month when most other dating sites are $20-$30 a month, and I believe they are all recurring billing? In the future, just cancel the recurring billing the moment you sign-up. I think all dating sites work this way and you still have the 30 days to use the site even after you cancel billing.
