I have an ongoing issue where I loose the handshake with the internet when I am logged into a Cysco VPN, forcing me to reset te cable modem. I will loose connection anywhere within a minute to an hour, consistantly. Charter has replaced everything in the home, including the wire to the phone pole. A neighbor has the same issue. Charter is unwilling to look into it any furthur. I can connect with no issues when I go on travel, or use a wireless USB inernet card on the laptop.

Sports fans in town? All disapointed. Comcast has the broadcasting rights to our local sports and makes Charter pay them to broadcast on their stations. To cut costs, many of Celtics and Red Sox games are strangely not aired, only to have the station magicly come back after the game. After calling many of times, we have found out that there is a switch in a station on the Conneticut border that needs to be switched on to get the game, and calling Comcast has confirmed the Charter fee they are required to pay to air the game.

Avoid this company at all costs. You will be severely disappointed.

I MUST BE DREAMING

If charter actually helped a customer, I must be dreaming. The intentional corporate policy is to evade, ignore and prolong the resolution of all customer service and accounting issues. In fact the general intention is not to resolve them at all. I should know, I have contacted Charter more than 70 times in 10 months to resolve issues that should have been taken care of within 24 hours. And you better believe, these issues are still not resolved. If Charter has a monopoly on your community, you have my deepest sympathy, Charter is the most unreliable service possible, that's a fact. It is possible to pressure your local city government into dumping charter, and replacing charter with another cable provider. I encourage you to do that now. I wish your community the best of luck in purging this company permanently.

I'm sorry to hear you are having VPN issues while connected to your Charter service. Because you have troubleshooted your VPN issue down to your local Charter connection there are two things you want to look at. Your Router or your modem (either your Charter rental modem or one you bought yourself). There are many things that can cause a VPN problem, including port blocking. The best way to resolve this is to reach the IT for your VPN so they can run port and other test on your router and modem to determine what is stopping your VPN from functioning correctly.

I also had this problem. I contacted the tech support number on my bill but was not able to get the problem resolved. Then I contacted Eric at Charter (contact info in this posting). He quickly put me in touch with one of his techs who was able to resolve the problem. I highly recommending contacting these guys.
