In 1997 I leased a car through Chase Auto Finance. I returned it in 2001 to the dealer and recieved a receipt. A few months later I started getting calls from collectors asking where the car is. I finally was able to prove that I returned it on time and under mileage to the dealership, and recieved a letter from Chase Auto Finance that this was all clear. Now, almost 2008 and it is still on my credit report. I have been called them on and off, and each time they promise to look into it, and I never hear from them again. Now when I call they have it in their notes to transfer me to their manager, a Lonnie Solomon, who does not return my many calls. When I was in the process of buying a house about 1 year ago, I got very aggressive with my calls to them to complain, and what did they do, they filed another item on my credit report, this one dated 2006 - just when the issue was about to expire they renewed it. I hope someone ruins their credit for no good reason so they know what it feels like!
