Chysler Daimler ripoff 2.7 liter engines in Concordes and Inteprids Nationwide Iowa
I am a 40 something with a complaint on Chrysler. Know this I'm a Chrysler man. My dad was too. I've always been satisfied until I bought my 99 Concorde used. It has 20 some thousand on it. Know this I baby my cars and have them serviced regularly. Long story short version. I'm driving 55 on a curvey road when engine starts to knock and dies. I lost ability to steer, and brake. I'm a pretty good size guy. What happens if I'm a elderly driver? My mechanic said it was a rod bearing. Internal engine part. I called Chrysler who said they couldn't help me but maybe my dealership will. My dealership in Newton iowa said they would ""give me a discount"" to keep me as a customer. Their price ? Anywhere from $6300.00-$8300.00 to repair the engine. This car has 70,000 miles on it.
I researched and found several class action lawsuits being initiated on this engine. All with similar stories. Chrysler won't admit there's a problem. Complaints are being made regularly to the NHSTA on the safety concerns.
Now I have a expensive lawn ornament I can't afford to fix with monthly payments and insurance bills still coming in. I'm steamed.
