Kei is lucky. I am not. Cingular Reps are worse than you think they are. They keep disputing to cover their act. In my case, Cingular Wireless changed my cotract agreement without my consent. Until I find out they said that they have no records about my contract meanwhile I am still their customer. I requested them to refund the overcharge for the last 2years. They said they could only refund me for the last 60 days. It is rediculous. I filed complain with FCC. I hope FCC take a good look at the problem. No one would say contract agreement alternation is computer error. Only Cingular reps do. I have all the facts.

Seems to me there have been several misunderstandings in your case. First and foremost, I'm not sure that you completely understand about cellular roaming. It is unavoidable that out-of-state calls will be posted to your account when they arrive at Cingular, something which Cingular has no control over, and your account will be billed in the month they arrive, not necessarily in the month they were incurred. Cingular understands that folks have a hard time understanding this, and as you see, they did issue you a courtesy credit at the time you were educated. That being said, the issue of received voice mail messages being charged airtime is debatable. Cingular here in Arkansas does not charge your account if you receive a voice message, but it DOES charge if you use your wireless phone to RETRIEVE the messages. Perhaps this is where the misunderstanding lies? If you are in fact being charged for being left a message, Cingular should investigate this and rectify this on your account. If Maryland Cingular accounts DO charge for this, then again, you should contact customer service and tell them you were not informed of that, and again they should issue a courtesy credit. I hope you get things cleared up! You can always feel free to call customer service to do a "rate plan analysis". This will help you find the problem issues on your account and get you on a rate plan that will suit your needs! Hope this helps!

You obviously have the Cingular Home Plan for $29.99. This plan is not advisable for an out of state college student. This is a basic plan. In order to not inquire such charges that you have acuired, you need to take the time to read and UNDERSTAND all of the plans that Cingular Wireless has to offer. This is true with any Cellular service that you choose to use. You need a plan that will give you free nationwide long distance in and out of state, no roaming charges (following the rules of roaming of course), and free voice mail. In your case, you need to upgrade from the basic package that you have. It may cost more, but believe me, there is a package that should better suit your situation. I'm not only an employee, but I am a customer, and even I have to be careful of my phone useage. Always be mindful of when and where you use your cellular phone, and remember the rules of the package that you have chosen, and you should be able to keep your bill under control!!!

I feel your frustrations. I used to use Cingular prior to my current wireless carrier and had lots of billing complications with each bill totalling to about $150-$200. However, I patiently spoke with the representatives and pointed out where they made their billing errors. For me, I was charged for weeknight minutes for calls which I made after 8:00pm. This was almost two years ago. There was also another time when I was misled to believe that roaming charges were to be taken from my available local minutes. However, I called back and found out that i was to be charged roaming charge by another representative. However, they credited me back the roaming charges that was incurred. Moral of the story is I would have agree that Cingular misleads and their reps are untrained but I would have to give them two thumbs up for trying to reimburst me for the charges to keep me on the boat. my two cents.

In my posted complaint, I made a typo error. My bill is $537.50 not $5,437.50. Just want to be fair.
