Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
When my wife was hired by cingular, in bloomington MN, on her third day at the company. My wife was in the rest room washing her hands (my wife is black and I'm white) a white manager walks in with papers and her cell phone and places items next to my wife on sink counter and befor the manager enters the stall she turns to my wife and says if you "steal my phone you'll have to take the business calls".

My wife was verbally attacked in her cubicle by two non-blacks and my wife's manager writes her up for insabonation (excuse spelling). My wife was fired on 11/05 because she ajusted her bra strap in her cubicle. My wife had given her manager fron her dematologist that she had over acting sweat glands. My wife takes anti-biotics and a special medicated roll-on.

Cingular wireless manager fired her over the phone and didn't give her any follow up information. When my wife was written up she was the only person in the office not to bonus. When my wife asked for an investigation why others in the office had write-ups and they received their bonus's, these managers refused to do any investigation and proceeded to fire her about the bra strap The dept of unemployment is on my wifes side and just can't belive the firing.

My wife still waiting to collect unemploment, but Cingular wireless appealed. I'm planing to go national with this company, they are raising the bar on raceism. My wife and I desided to hire a private lawyer and file with the dept of Human Rights after the appeal with the judge.I will update this next week if possible.

#3UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, February 02, 2006

I am also a former Cingular Employee. I was kindly asked to leave, right after the Cingular/At&T purchase happened, as were the rest of my employees, shortly thereafter (I was a store manager). They had tried to fire me under the stipulation that I had let someone that didn't work for Cingular use our printer, therefore exposing "sensitive company information"... the person had never so much as entered a part of the store a customer does not see. I was "kindly" given the option to resign, or be let go. I, in turn, politely (ha ha) asked them to please fire me, as, if I quit, they would not have to pay for my unemployment. They tried to talk me out of it, but I stood my ground. And I was asked to give back my store keys, ID badge, credit card, and lap top that day, pack up my things, and not return. I filed for unemployment, and got it. After I was "let go", they slowly weeded out all of my former sales reps, one by one, until they finally closed my store, so they could keep the former AT&T store across the street instead. They then managed to "let go" of 2 employees in that store as well. I am currently in the midst of a wrongful termination suit that is looking in my favor. I strongly encourage you and your wife to do the same!!!! They are a good company. They unfortunately, have no morals whatsoever. Good Luck!!
