Cingular Wireless Rebate Joke..

I did a upgrade in which I received another phone and was told that I would receive a rebate. I was told that when I receive the rebate form, just fill it out and send it back. And in 4-6 weeks, I will have my $50.00 back. Well to my surprise, I did receive a welcome kit. However, no rebate form.

When I called cingular, the rep tells me that the phone I have received when I did the upgrade, I cannot get a rebate because the phone I purchased does not offer a rebate.(well, well, well.)

I told the rep that when I purchase the phone from the cingular tele-sales department over the phone, the rep who sold me the phone made it clear that I would receive a rebate.

I called again and was switch to the telesales department(on hold for 25 mins I may add) and spoke to a rep name Amy down in Reno. She told me that I should have received a rebate form with my welcome kit and since I did not,she would be sending me out a rebate form. It has been over a week and I still have not receive this rebate form.

I did call the rebate center and they told me that they could not help me with my problem. I had to call customer care. I then called customer care and they also told me they could not help me and wanted to switch me back to the rebate center. I told them to switch me to the tele-sales department. This is who I spoke to when I first purchased the phone. I am switched to the telesales department and I am on hold for 30mins again.

When I get to speak to a rep, he then tells me that he would have to switch me back to the rebate center.. This is still a nightmare. The problem with cingular is: the reps there do not have a clue as to what they are doing and are giving out wrong information. They just do not know what they are doing. Give it a try. You will see what I mean.

I can see that this is going to be a long battle with them and its a shame. I did anther 2 year contract with Cingular because I liked the phone they were offering and the rebate. However, I am still fighting with this rebate because the phone I have may not even be entitled to a rebate. However, I feel since I was told this by one of the reps when ordering the phone, I should receive the rebate papers and I feel I am entitled to the rebate.

I hate Cingular Wireless with their imcompetent customer service and sales reps. Terrible.

telesales not trained very well, and because they are not face to face, most of them really don't care

I agree with you about telesales, i think they are not trained very well, and because they are not face to face, most of them really don't care. I work as an agent for cingular and have had many customers come in to my store because they did not receive a rebate form with their phone. I'm sure that if you go into a store in your area they would have no problem giving you a rebate form for your model phone. Just a tip, be sure you get everything correct on the form as Young America is very picky, and if any little detail is wrong or missing they will send it back, BE SURE TO MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING. Hopefully this helps. P.S. - It takes 10-12 weeks to get your rebate, not 4-6 that they told you. Read the small print at the bottom of the form.
