The week before Christmas I purchased a $400.00 Samsung DVD recorder from Circuit City. I was busy working during Hurricane Katrina and delayed setting up the unit. When I finally got it set up it wouldn't record on 8X disks. I called Circuit City who promptly told me their policy was for a 30 day return only. (it was 37 days).

I called Samsung who mfg the unit as suggested. They told me the unit was old and outdated. To date neither one will help me get the unit up and running.

"Circuit City passing off old equipment as current Ripoff" What does that even mean?! Was there a sign that said "THIS IS THE MOST UP TO DATE DVD BURNER EVER!"? You know, you bought a prodcut based on it's features and price. It just happens to be "last years model". We get new computers every two months and they are all the same thing so newer isnt always better. Is it supposed to burn 8x disks? I dont know much about DVD recorders but I always thought they coudlnt go faster then 4x because that would be faster then the TV show. How on earth is this a ripoff?

What comes out today, will be obsolete in a couple of months. Samsung can fix it for you, you just have to be willing to pay their fees to do so (usually there is a 30 day warranty through them, and 90 days on somthing else. READ YOUR WARRANT YCARD THAT CAME WITH YOUR UNIT) And again, electronics are obsolete so quickly these days
