Circuit City ripoff on extended warranty Richmond Virginia
I purchased a CitiAdvantage Protection Plan (CPP)on a 55" Sony TV. Cost of set $2700 plus $500 for the CPP. Within a year TV bellied up and Circuit City replaced it. Told me I would receive pro-rated refund of old CPP, and was required to by a new CPP on new TV.
Months later received a check for $49. Was told they deducted an administrative fee and $250 for the service call they arranged to make to fix old TV or determine if it needed replacing. Complained several times to different parts of Circuit City with same response: "This is Circuit City policy".
This insane and contrary to printed explanation of benefits of the CPP, to wit, free repair or free replacement.
I am taking them to small claims court.
