CivilTree THIEVES STOLE MY MONEY! Northridge California
In October of 2010 I filed a small claim on line with Civil Tree. It was for a breach of contract with a construction company that never finished the work they were paid to do.
I received what looked like legal documents in the mail with the pertinent information on them to be signed and returned. After doing so I waited and kept checking the website to see if the case was filed. After a period of time I called the live chat phone number and was told that the case was filed and that the court was backed up with small claims.
Again I waited. By then a year had gone by so I called and spoke to a man who again assured me that the case had been filed. At that point I decided to call the Trumbull County Courthouse where the case had supposedly been filed and was told that there was never a case filed.
I again called the company and told them what I found out and that I wanted a refund. I was told that Civil Tree filed the case and there must be a mistake on the part of the court. I told them to just refund my fee and I would file it myself.
I never received a refund and now the website has bee shut down.
