College Prep Center BIGGEST LYING DECEPTIVE & FRAUDULENT SCAM ARTIST I've ever dealt with in my life Ripoff La Mesa California
I too was scammed into their lies. Was told 30 day trial & only needed my credit card as a "hold", I asked 2nd time that there would not be a charge on my credit card and was told 30 day trial. I received package but had never even opened the box when I got my credit card statement with a $119.99 charge, I immediately called my credit card company asking what to do if there is a charge I dispute. I was told to tell the College Prep Center that this was already being disputed thru Credit Card. I called College Prep Center & was given an authorization to return package & told since it was being disputed thru Credit Card I would not get a refund from them unless I won my dispute. Well don't rely on your Credit Card Co. to do anything, after some time, the Credit Card Co. stated they were unable to intervene any further & I would have to go thru College Prep to try & get my refund. Well, this has been the biggest nightmare of my life. I have been hung up on several times, at 1st they state it is still with their disputing dept. & then they keep telling me that they are still waiting for information from my credit card company, which I told them is not true that my credit card issued money back to them on May 10. It is non-stop lies & so frustating. I couldn't believe when I found this site & how many people with the same story. Is there nothing we can do to stop them & get a refund??? I already have a form for Atty.Gen.for Consumer Protection, but is this enough?, I AM NOT GIVING UP!!!!

I have filed a report with the "Atty.Gen.of Consumer Protection". I have called the La Mesa Police Department several times. They first told me their is nothing they can do. I said that I can't believe their is nothing anyone can do to stop these people". I then received a call back from Officer O'Dean trying to tell me to go thru my credit card company (I already did this), to file a complaint with the BBB (what good is this, when their is nothing they can do), he then asked me if I have tryed stopping by their place of business( I informed him that I am from Pennsylvania") Why can't they try this??. He then told me he would check with the State Licensing Dept. & I asked if someone could get back to me ( I never received a call back). Before I spoke with him I talked to "Jamie" at the Police Dept., she said that the address the College Prep Center uses is a P.O. Box in some Strip Mall & since they have no physical address they really couldn't do anything. Hello!!!!. Why couldn't the police dept. check to see who this P.O.Box is listed to or something??? I mean come on, you would think that someone, somewhere would have the authority to do something. Basically, it seems from what they are telling me, I could start up some fraudulent "business" & scam people out of their money & there is nothing anyone can do to stop me! Does this not sound crazy?? I was given a number by Jamie for the Fraud Department & I quess I'll call them to see if I can get anywhere(I'm thinking, probally not). I can't even call "College Prep Center" anymore because I get hung up on repeatedly after being told lie after lie, I get so upset & worked up that I'm ready to explode. This isn't about the $119.99 anymore, this is about somebody being able to stop these scam artist & theives. If anyone has any new information, please let me know.
