First off, I would like to point out that many people are going to say some pretty nasty stuff about this school out of spite because they come into the programs expecting a walk in the park and an easy degree and then because the standards are very poor to begin with, the students do not make any effort to achieve quality work or attempt to be held to any standard. Don't get me wrong, there are a few students who honestly want to put in a hard day's work and make the best of what they are given to work with but are only held back by some of the poor teaching styles of the teachers employed by this institution. Trust me I go to this school and am working hard to become someone who can be employed in the fast-moving, high standard film industry in Hollywood.

So with that being said, the teachers here are ,at most, mediocre. There are alot of things you have to learn on your own, and I'm not talking about those minute details that you are supposed to find in the book, I'm talking about things that you really cannot learn unless you are shown or told. There are many students who enroll in the program just to get the macbook pro that is offered (which the student pays $3300 for and can be found for almost half the price elswhere) and then leave the program. So your classes are full of people who just want a new laptop and could not afford a lower price up front so they signed up for school. Then when you get into 'advanced' classes the people who have made it that far only stay because teachers almost refuse to give bad grades because if students stay in school then the school receives more money.

I plan on graduating soon but i fear my degree will not reflect well on me and that Collins College may be a reason that I don't get a job. The quality of my work is not awesome because I don't have anyone to really show me what I am doing wrong.

Again the concepts are good and the work would be pretty good (this applies to most students) if we were given good equipment to work with. I am not trying to hate, but if you are planning on going to Collins College for any type of degree, If you are serious about your career, I strongly recommend that you consider looking elsewhere for a more professional education and one that will be taken seriously in your career field.

I just want to say to all these comments on Collins College that you people are ridiculous!! MOst of you graduated in the early to mid 90's and still over ten years later are posting new complaints. instead of writing things on ripoffreport.com try going to JOBING.COM and actually do something about your situation. No matter where you go to school you will hear someone not satsfied and usually those type of people are ones who blame all there problems on everyone else instead of taking control over their own lives. Try going back to school if you feel you don't have the necessary skills to work in your field, but I am sure ifyou did go to another school you will probably have something to say about them as well. Also to those who are lawsuit happy....give me a break......you people will do anything to get effortless money. I understand the economy is bad right now but really evaluate your situation and stop blaming a school for why your life has not been productive. I went to a school with a not so great reputation and met alot of complainers like you but guess what....I made sure I was successful and so can you. The moment you stop dwelling on the past and how you were a victim just remember you are the one who choose to attend school and had to sign paperwork in order to do so and if you want to blame the person you originally spoe to who promised you the world, then shame on you for being an idiot and listening. So one last time...get off your butt and really get out to get some work so you can pay off your student loans like the rest of the world! Do you think everyone at ASU is satisfied with the school and is working?............yea there working at restaraunts as waiters and waitresses.....difference is they are responsible enough to accept what they have made themselves become and are not complaining on this horrible website.
