I'm Lauren with Higher One and wanted to comment on the reference to the Higher One settlement.

Higher One did enter into a class action for $15m and decided to settle to put it behind us. Class action lawsuits, even those without merit such as the consumer class action suit Higher One has been dealing with this year, bring with them a lengthy and costly litigation process and disrupt business – hence why Higher One settled. This settlement does NOT include an admission of wrongdoing on Higher One’s behalf. Those who were eligible would have been contacted and most of the practices the suit entails have since been eliminated. Further explanation is available at oneaccountsettlement.com.

So it's official the CEC, CTU, Brown and whatever other names that they run under are in on this scam. It affects more than half of the online schools. Higher One the Bank is for a fact being sued in federal, state and more courts because the students got tired of having their stipends held for 14 days or more with accounts in their names that they never personally authorized or signed up for (hmm someone's making interest money on our money) Brian whatever his name is the CEO of CTU online sound familiar? He's probably actually the CEO of this Career Education Company is more like it. Any ways if you got an email on that get in on it. Once they follow the paper trails these parent companies running a lot of these online schools are going down peroid. I personally know someone who is at another university who sits on the board deciding whether schools like CTU etc. get their Title IV funding and especially the accrediting via the Dept of Ed. It's about to be pulled. Yes we are auditing them big time. 

I called it and left a message and Kerry did call me back. She is no longer with that particular department or part of the department but she did offer me some great advice and the facts that CTU online aka Colorado Technical University is undergoing numerous law suits from State Departments of Education, the U.S. Department of Education, private citizens and their attorneys etc. clear across the U.S. and more. Try this website to see if you can get results and the State Attorney General in Colorado actually reviews this postings at: http://www.HIGHERED.COLORADO.GOV once there go to the link that says Students and Parents click that and then look for the link on the right or the left that says how do I? And one of them should be how do I file a complaint etc. Post that and then wait for the results. Yes people CTU is being sued and now is the time to get your parts of the story in. Anything that we can use to nail them is great and the more legit info, undisputable and undeniable evidence that we have against them the better. Time to shut this diploma mill down. My last bit of advice is do contact your lenders and your banks and compare dollar for dollar and penny for penny what CTU is charging you for tuition etc. and what is being sent over there and what your lendors not the school says that your stipend payments should be. I can nearly gurantee you that CTU does not send you the full amount each and every time they are supposed to down to the last cent. So your two thousand and some odd dollar and cent stipend might be off by as much as a thousand dollars or more. We the students signed all the paper work for the loans not the college, it is our money not theirs. We pay the lendors back not them. So then why in the world are they pulling these fast ones on us and ripping us off?
