I bought a computer from Gateway and was making payments to them or Hurley Bank. In November of 2001 I received a bill from Computer Finance, LLC I didn't know who this was so i called themto find out and that is when I found out that Gateway had sold my account.
I then asked them about the balance that was on there bill and they said that is what Hurley Bank gave them Ther was a difference in what Gateway said I owed and what they said of $323.00 I then asked for a statement history of all my payments and they told me they didn't have those records so AI then asked for the Coporate Office number and they said they don't have on .
They told me to send a letter to the dispute dept which I did but with no luck.
I then started getting letters from a company called Gulf States Credit. I called them and they told me that they bought the acct> from Computer Finance. I then procceded to tell them the problem and they sid they would check on it and get back with me.
On August 6, 2002 I contacted Gulf States Credit and they told me the account was back at Computer Finance so I really don't know what is going on. I called them on August 6, 2002 They said that the office that was handling my acct. close and it was in Phoneix Az. now I have even called information to get a phone number on the company no listing.
When i orginaly filed the dispute I was told by one of there employees not to make a payment till this was resolved and they would send me a corrected statement this has never happened.
ON August 19, 2002 I contacted them again and this time they just hung up on me. So what do I do How can I get this straighten out. Thedy say I now owe 1725.41 when in October Gateway said I owed 987.00 so You better watch out because you are gona get ripped.
I have had my Dad even try talking to these people and he hasn't even had any luck. and now my credit is messed up
