We purchased a 26" Sylvania LCD TV from Conn's July 1, 2006. We also purchased a three year warranty. In December of 2007, the TV developed a black line down the side of the picture. We let it go until the power button would turn on and then turn immediately off. We took it to Conn's on 5 September, 2008, and was told by the Assistant Manager that they would probably scrap it; but that the Service Department would have to look at it.

We received a telephone call from the Service Department and was told that it could be repaired and it would between ten and fifteen days before they could get parts and be repaired. I couldn't see how they could fix it; but waited until the sixteenth day and called the Service Department.

I waited on the line at least 45 minutes to talk to someone and was told that they hadn't received the parts and they did not know when they would receive them. My husband and I went to the store and spoke to the Store Manager. He said he would try to get in touch with the Service Department, but it was just as hard for them to get through on the telephone and he would send an e-mail. Still no word. We asked for the Customer Service telephone number and called and told them what was going on. The Customer Service Supervisor said she would send a FAX to them.

Shortly after that we received a telephone call from them and was told that it would be between three and five days before we receive approval to exchange the TV. I contacted the Store Manager on 19 October 2008 and he said that we should hear today, October 20th. I contacted the Customer Service in Beaumont which is their corporate office. I was told that that was the wrong number and gave me another telephone number to call. When I spoke to someone there, I was told that I should call the local Service Department. I asked her to check on the computer. She said that it had not been approved by the manufacturer. Here it is October 20th. No TV. This is ridiculous.
