Consolidated Media Services left a message on my voicemail several months ago saying "I have some exciting news about your sweepstakes entry! Please call me back-I need to reach you!"

I didn't enter any sweepstakes, but I called back to see what was going on and she told me about the drawings, and the money. I told her to put my name in. The next day I got a call at work (I don't know how they got my number), and was lied to about the magazine subscriptions.

I was told that my credit card would be billed monthly and would not start until I had gotten my magazines. I was also told I would get a diamond watch and a welcome packet in the mail, and I would sign it as a confirmation to charge my card. Well, I was in the process of trying to get a mortgage loan at the time, so I never replied to the "confirmation mail."

The next statement I got from my credit card company was outrageous, and I didn't authorize any charges! I am a young single mother and cannot afford all of this. CMS continued to charge my card repeatedly, until I was over my limit, and my minimum payment was several hundred dollars!!

I can't pay that much at one time, so my credit card account was closed by the company, and my credit is now not good enough for my mortgage loan. I am completely devastated, and it all started with this peice of s**t company. HELP ME PUT THEM UNDER!

Report them to www.ftc.gov click on the: File a Complaint Online (CMS breaks every possible ftc rule repeatedly.) www.usps.com/postalinspectors - scroll down to the File a Mailfraud Complaint, chose "Prize or sweepstakes" as the subject of your complaint (USPS HATES sweepstakes) Call the Attoreny General of Georgia Office of Consumer Affairs (They have a very huge file on this company) 800.869.1123 THEN send an e-mail to Clay Hurst, the principal of CMS [email protected], referring to your previous complaints to the government offices.

#3Consumer Suggestion

I recieved a call from Consolodated Media Services one night as I was relaxing watching T.V. They lied to me also about entering me in a sweepstakes, instead I started recieving magazines in the mail and getting charged with my debit card. I dont know if they like targeting single mothers but I am one and a college student and my credit is not very good in the first place!!! Child support and soon a part time waitress job is all I will be living off of. I cannot afford the big magazine payments, and the company is not willing to cancel since my payments are how "they make their money". I am wanting to get a good job and to eventually buy a house of my own. I dont want my credit to go completely down the tubes due to some magazine subscriptions. Help me put this POS company out of buisness!!
