I had heard from many companies providing me quotes for my move and they averaged at about 90 a hour anywhere from a 3 to 5 hour move for my 2/1 bath apartment.

On March 10th 2008 I had received a call from Adam at Continental Express Movers. I had told him I was moving a 2/1 and that I needed to move on March 17th. He told me that they charged 90 for three men and that it would take approximately 3 hours to move me. I told him I was considering another company and quickly he quoted me at 85 a hour for three movers and said that if I booked with them I could have that rate. I was told that they were part of the BBB.

I confirmed with him the rate and approximate time which was about adverage for movers in the area. I called on March 13th to confirm my move on Monday the 17th. I asked if the rate was 85 a hour and confirmed it would be around a three hour move. I was told yes. I was told that sunday they would call me back with a pick up time on monday.

They never called, I called monday and they didn't have my paper work. The movers got lost on the way over. 3 hour move quickly went sour. I had asked them to pack two closets of clothes and shoes. For some reason this took OVER three hours to do, so just moving out of my apartment was 6 hours and then they took another 5 unloading these boxes. It was more like, one person was moving me and the other two just watched.

But that isn't the worse part. I was charged 700+ dollars for so called supplies and 1000 for labor. On top of that, their truck wasn't big enough to move all my furniture. They packed my garbage in two boxes. And would not unload my furniture until I paid them in full.

I have several broken pieces of furniture, glasse ware smashed and who else knows what is broken, I haven't unpacked all the boxes. I still have furniture at my old house and was told they would charge me more if I wanted them to go get it.

I am sickened that anyone could do what they have done and still sleep at night. My 300 dollar move turned into 1700. I am going to be taking legal action against them.

This is just not right.
