Countryside Mortgage Service Ripoff is very deceptive and unprofessional in its business practices Arlington Virginia
I was planning to refinance my loan. I searched the web hoping to find a reliable and safe mortgage company. My first mistake.
I, unfortnately, found Countryside Mortgage Services, Inc in Arlington, VA. STAY WAY !!! I figured it was local and I would not have any problems. My second mistake. I now know that you should go with recommendations from friends and families, b/c there are alot of scammers and rip-off artist out there.
I first contacted Mike Lange from this mortgage company. We agreed to a lock in a rate. I checked on him and emailed him several times as it was very hard to get a hold of him. This is atypical of a regular mortgage company. I left mesages and he never called me back. So, I went to his office, because I was unable to contact him by phone or email, to turn in my paper work. He assured me that everyting was fine. The office visit should have made me wary. He rented a room in a building, but we discussed my paperwork and financials in the reception area, not in his office. Gave him a check for the appraisal.
A coupled of weeks passed. After several more attempts I finally was able to contact him, constantly bugging his answering service. He assured me that everything was fine. Two weeks go by, I hear nothing from him. I try to contact him, again after several attempts. He now tells me that he had only five days to LOCK IN my loan when I turned in my paper work, which is totally an untruth. I talked to two mortgage refinance agents and they said that was not true. In fact, I went and LOCKED IN a rate with another refinance company -the very same day that he told me that my rate was a half point higher than that was originally supposed to be!
I emailed and asked for him to release the appraisal papers to my new refinance company. He agreed to do so. It been over a week, and three emails later and several calls to his office later. Again, no response. Typical. I now have to paid another $350 for a re-appraisal of my house because the guy is simply incompetent. I find it hard to believe that this guy, Mike Lange is still in business. First, the guy does not answer his phone, or respond to emails on a consistent basis. He suppose to be working for you, but in reality he works against you. Second, he has a very deceptive business practices, says one thing and does another. I would advise anyone want to refinance or doing a home purchase to avoid Mike Lange at Countryside Mortgage Services, Inc., in Arlington, VA.
