Countrywide Home Loans ripoff, misrepresentation, disceit, credit damage Calabasas California
On or about the second week of July, 2005 I contacted Countrywide Home Loans (CWHL)in an attempt to assist my elderly father in law (who we live with and care for) in re-financing his existing mortgage, and consolidate some bills.
After 3-4 weeks of sending "required" information that the underwriters wanted including a Deth Certificate of his spouse, a representative from (CWHL)called to set up a closing date for the following day.
Since I had not received an updated Uniform Residential Loan App, Good Faith Estimate, Truth In Lending Disclosure Statement or Itemization Of Amount Financed from CWHL I explained to the representative that I could not close on the loan until I had the aformentioned information. She stated that she would send an e-mail to the loan officer (LO)informing him.
The same day the LO called to inform me that CWHL could not close on the home loan because I had said that the home was a single family home (SFH) when in reality it was a modular home.
I never once stated that the home was a SFH during the entire process, but was upfront about it being a modular home.
CWHL pulled my father inlaws credit report which lowers his score.
They Also had an apprasial done which we never received a copy of.
They also refuse to reinburse a $20.00 fee that was charged by my father in laws mortgage company for a statement stating the pay off amount.
