St Louis,#2Consumer Suggestion
Sun, August 20, 2006
Both parties appear to be in the wrong. As a consumer, before purchasing the home you should absolutely get a copy of all three of your credit reports and deal with any problems or errors. COuntrywide perhaps failed to instruct you that a problem existed in a more timely manner (earlier), but it needs to be understood that the underwriting rules are that of the investor (Fannie mae, etc.) who buys your loan. More info would be needed fromt he complainant to determine why they were alerted to the delinquent account so late. A very highly unusual event. CLearly other circumstances not being given here. I am an experienced mortgage banker, so I am not shooting from the hip here.
