My boyfriend and I purchased a car two years ago from All Image Auto,a small dealership in Lodi,CA. We had our first issue with the car two days later. We contacted the dealer who took no responsibility for the car and directed us to contact the finance company regarding any issues, as the lot was basically a park and sell type dealer. I then tried contacting County Financial Services and got an automated menu where I could leave messages. After this, the car quickly became a burden, it was in the shop 3 and a half of the first 5 months, during which time I made full payments, sometimes paying more than what was due.

I tried multiple times to speak with County Financial about a resolution to the situation, but was treated as if I was a delinquent account. I was harassed, threatened and told there would be someone coming to repo the car. By this point, the shop repairing the car had informed us that the car had been totaled at some point before we got it, and the wiring was repaired with duct tape. It was never disclosed to us that the car had been in a major collision, which is illegal in California. Taping the wires had caused the ignition control module wire to melt, followed by a fuse melting into the fuse box.

I paid out of pocket to repair all this and contacted the finance company to speak with them. I was once again threatened and at this time was told by an attorney that making any more payments after that point would be viewed as my implied consent to keeping the car with knowledge of its problems, basically paying would obligated me to keep the car under the original contracted terms, despite the failure to disclose. At this point I stopped making payments and notified the finance company that i would likevto discuss what they would be willing to do to fix the problems.

As always they did nothing but try to double talk me. From that point on, county financial harassed us at home and work by phone, then began to harass our references even going as far as impersonating a police officer and threatening to charge them with a crime if they didn't give up our location. The car continued to have issues both major and minor until in may of this year the front end collapsed on the freeway due to a bad weld done before we bought the car. When we filed an insurance claim the insurance company sent us paperwork detailing prior claims on the car, one of which resulted in death and a lawsuit involving out car.

About ten months ago out of nowhere county financial had contacted us to try to work out a settlement offer, but we were not willing to take anything that would prevent us from suing if we had more issues later on. It was then put on my boyfriends credit as a charge off. When this latest accident occurred we contacted county financial to get our title and were told to pay 8,000 or no way we would get title.we only paid 8999 for the car in the first place, and I have receipts for payments totaling more than 3500 dollars,so how is 8000 even possible? And why would I pay anything after they wanted to work out a settlement? Crooked and putting families in dangerous cars
