To all Covenant drivers, I have been with this company for less than six months and in that time I have learned how to get them to pay detention time and how to effectively communicate with then.

First thing I can say is to do as much of your communication with them over the qualquam. If they refuse to give you orders over the QualCom system, then they are telling you to do somthing either illegal or against company policy. Not that that really matters to them.

To get detention pay you need to wait at least 1.75 hours before sending a message to dispatch. If they tell you that the customer does not pay dention pay, remind them that Covenant does. Make sure you have the new employee handbook, the white one, and give them the page number.

Guys and Ladies, I cannot stress enough the importance of using that QualCom as much as possible. If you are told to do somethig, make them tell you over that. If they do not, then they did not say a word.

QualCom is not operated by Covenant. They are a disinterested third party and they can provide you with very important documantation. Once a message is sent through this system, it cannot be unsent or deleted.

I have not talked to any driver that was happy with how they are treated, even members of the Executive Council are dissatisfied. They do have their good points, but their bad points outweigh the good.

Good Luck Drivers, and God Bless you all
