I called Cox and ordered the internet and cable tv. bundle, the price was 95.00 per month. I agree to this price, and was informed by the salesman there was a 100.00 deposit required to connect service which I paid with my credit card. Then two weeks later I get a bill in the mail for 348.18 minus the 100.00 deposit that I paid when I ordered service, I had an outstanding balance of 248.18.

I looked my bill over and was flabbergasted at the charges:

   Service deposit: $50.00

   Outside cable lock removal: $22.95

   Connect Cable to Box $49.95

   Internet Deposit: $50.00

   Professional Internet install: $39.95

   Cable Modem Purchase $29.95

These are all ridiculous charges. Im being charged three times for a deposit!

Im being charged for them to remove a lock they put on the outside wiring to prevent cable theft.?

They have the gall to charge $50.00 to screw the cable into the back of the box?

As for the professional internet install, I had to do that myself after I went and bought a wireless router.

When I called Cox about these outrageous charges they got hostile with me. Treated me like I was crap, and did the over talking game where they talk over you like you were a child and poo-pooed everything you have to say. The supervisor that I spoke with (Mrs. Turner) got so angry with me when I asked for the same opportunity to speak as I had given to her, that she hung up the phone on me.

This type of non-disclosure, underhanded tactics is more suited for an e-mail scam from some Prince in Africa than Cox. I expected more from such a company as this Guess I was wrong.

Next time Im in a restaurant and get charged a $50.00 convenience fee for the waitress to bring me my food from the kitchen, and a $49.00 sevice fee for use of silverware, and a $12.00 napkin fee, I wont get upset because its just the Cox way of doing business here in Vegas.
