My son enrolled in this school and took the HVAC course. He graduated near the top of his class about 2011. After graduation the "assistance" he was given to find a job was to use their computer to search the Internet. There were no job leads, no resume writing help, no practicing interview skills. It seems they don't have HVAC employers who they liason with. So then how can they advertise job finding assistance? On top of that, there is a certification exam that requires equipment to take. Do you think Coyne offered this exam on their equipment? Of course not. You would have to find someone in the state (on your own, they don't tell you) who offers the exam and go take it there. Without any practice test. We found 2 locations but they had strange hours that conflicted with his day job. He also felt uncomfortable taking this exam without a clue ahead of time. So he spent several weeks trying to snswer all sds for jobs to be told he doesn't have experience and another big one--Chicago is a union town. No one hires from school. They hire from apprenticeship through the union school. So ehy is Coyne offering this course without working with the union, employers or city to give students an actual chance to get a job? Because they got 10,000 from each student by graduation. They are despicable and I'm sorry I encouraged my son to attend. He's given up on this field and now owes 10,000 in loans for nothing. I saw that employer response and it's baloney as you would expect. Beware of this school!

Coyne College Supports Its Graduates With Comprehensive Services

We are sorry this graduate and his family had a bad experience. We invite him to return to the school to take advantage of our comprehensive career services.
Coyne College employs 5 full-time staff members in its Career Services department. The school provides instruction and coaching in all aspects of the job search, including resume and cover letter writing and mock interviews. Career Services also provides job leads and sets up interviews for graduates.
Coyne partners with several of the largest HVAC service and installation companies in the Chicago area. Many of these companies recruit on campus and at our spring and fall career fairs.
The EPA 608 Refrigerant Certification Examination is proctored on campus on Friday mornings and Tuesday evenings throughout the year. Each examination is preceded by an optional Exam Prep Seminar. The last Exam and Prep Seminar took place on July 17. There is another scheduled for Tuesday night, August 11. Our certification exam pass rate is high.
