Today I received a card for Credit one visa. I have never had a credit card nor do I want one. After looking online and finding numerous complaints I decided to call them and state that I never applied for this card and ask how they got my info. They could not tell me how the card was applied for, only that it was issued to me. I stated I did not want the card and told them not to activate it and to cancel anything in the works. I also asked to have my information removed and to never be contacted again by them. My fear is that nothing was done seeing as they are not reputable. I certainly dont want to owe fees and since I have no credit and have worked hard to avoid credit issues I dont want my credit destroyed by this company. My wife thinks we should write a letter as well stating this and have it sent by certified mail. Any other suggestions?

Hi, My situation is very similar to yours....I sent them letters and sent complaint letter to my Attorney General here in Missouri. That is the only way to deal with this company. They DO report their bogus information to Credit Bureaus, get your copies and check to see if they have reported... Look up BUDHIBBS.com, he was very helpful in my letter writing process to this company as well as my Attorney General. Dont Delay! Write your letters and keep copies, document all phone calls, etc. I refused to talk to them on the phone and you can too as long as you state it in your letter to them. I got the results I needed through doing this, I hope you do too! Good luck

Do not delay in writing this letter. Tell them that you are sending a copy of the letter to the Attorney General's office and the Credit Bureaus, as you fear your a victim of Identity Theft. Check your credit report and see if they did a hard-inquiry. If so, it is illegal, and turn them in.
