First of all, let me say I am current on all my accounts, but have gone through a recent divorce and I am suffering from financial stress. I dont know how I make it each month- but by grace I am. I just wanted to settle the accounts so I could feel less stress. I pay out $600 a month between three bills, and only having to pay $260 a month and being out of debt in four years sounded livable. I was told the only thing that would show on my credit report (when I called for information about the program) is it would only show "late payments", but I would be making payments in each month (not that they would store the money and NOT pay my creditors). It sounded to good to be true! So, I asked them- I live in Florida- If I do this and a hurricane comes and rips off my roof, will I still be able to qualify for a credit loan to fix my roof. She said most likely- as all I will have are a few months of late payments on my record (which scare me since I dont have any to begin with).

So, thinking of how many people out there have late payments all the time, I figured okay- it cant be that bad.Then- I thought about it overnight after having signed up. I had more questions and I needed to make the "welcome call" the next day. So, I did so. I asked pointed questions after reading reviews here (that I wish I had first off!)

1) Will I have a couple of late payments or will my accounts go delinquent? I was told late payments are the same wording as delinquent accounts. NOT! A Clinton use of terminology here- beware!

2) Then I asked what would happen when creditors began hounding me- I was told to ignore it- as it is scare tactics. (ahh-- they have teeth and do bite! people dont ignore dog growls!)

I closed my account 12 hours after opening it! I suggested they share the truth before signing people up rather than during a welcome call once signatures were already on the dotted line. Good news though- Paul in customer service did "explain" the differences between different service companies, but did not try to sway my decision. He immediately canceled my contract and sent me the documents for proof. If you are already delinquent and are going down the torturous road of hassle, ask how each company requests your credit marking to be read. You want it to be marked payments satisfied at least- and closed at customers request- Good Luck!
