CRLSS LLC Center for Recovery for Life Support Services dba UNIVERSE HOUSE at 1107 Washington Street Dorchester MA Jack aka John Marani was executive directive at Hopewell Recovery Services dba the Lincoln House for Women. They closed the doors on 10-2-15. Clients needed to relocate and staff was not paid!! He reopened as CRLSS LLC the universe house days later at same address. He was disbarred in 98 but continues to use JD. The house is in foreclosure. He's taking clients (families) money at $4900 a month and scamming them. He's doing clinical appts and getting more money separately and he is not qualified for that. He's a liar and a thief. He's been reported to The Bar Association, Attorney General, Spotlight Team at the Boston Globe and the Better Business Bureau. Dorchester Massachusetts

Jack or John Marani JD CADC was director at Hopewell recovery services. It closed unexpectedly on 10-02-15. The house was a recovery home for women in Dorchester MA. There was a men's house too, in Brighton called the Strathmore House. Clients were told to find another place and staff was not paid.
jack was disbarred and should not be using JD after his name. He got the keys to the house from the owners of Hopewell Recovery, John Coughlin and his father, Steven Coughlin And he reopened it (1107 Washington Dorchester ma) under a different name. CRLSS LLC dba Universe House. A now Co-Ed facility.
this property has been foreclosed on for quite some time. He is online asking for $4900 a month to the families and those individuals struggling with addiction. He also stated he will be doing clinical work on the side and will paid privately for it however, this man is not qualified. He has no clinical qualifications.
i fear what happened when John Marani was director of Hooewell will happen again with CRLSS. He's a scammer. Beware

I can attest for the original statements against John aka Jack Marani. I had worked with him there for a couple of years. He is the most manipulative man I have ever met. He is fantastic at using his words to make things seem fantastic but the money behind them is very big. He does not deliver and does pray on the vulnerability of the individuals and families who are desperate for their loved ones to get well. He states his disbarment is from his past. Which is true, but he is just as sick of a man as he has ever been. His willingness to do whatever it takes to get money from individuals and families is heartbreaking. Please if you read this do not trust this man. Again he is incredible with selling you answers but unfortunately I can guarantee it is not for the betterment of the individual who needs crucial treatment for their addiction or mental health. I have witnessed all of this. God bless the individuals and families who are looking for the help they need to live happy and healthy lives.

Jack Marani and the owners of Hopewell in Dorchester MA John Coughlin and his father Steven Coughlin (they continue to run sober homes) should have paid their hardworking & loyal staff. They continue to deny or take any responsibility whatsoever.
in Jacks BIO which I have attached a picture of it states he IS Executive Dirctor of Hopewell Recovery from August 2015 - Present (7 months). In his rebuttal to my complaint however, he says he conveniently resigned from Hopewell September 25th 2015.
and you did say you practice law. You just got caught so had to stop saying it and remove the JD from after your name.

The Universe House is a completely separate entity from Hopewell (Lincoln House), with no link to Hopewell, its ownership and management.
Jack Marani, JD is an academic title meaning Juris Doctor; It means that I have a law degree, however, I no longer pracice law.
CADC is a clinical designation meaning Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor which allows me to do clinical work limited to Addiction and recovery work.
I was disbarred and no long practices law. This action was direct result of my addiction. I have been committed to recovery principles for the past 19 years, and have worked as a clinician in a number of agencies, including CSS, Detox, and dual diagnosis facilities.
Jack Marani had been an employee of Hopewell from April of 2011 until discharged in September, 2014. His duties included, Drug and Alcohol Counselor Men's program, the Director of Admissions, Marketing then Executive Director. He returned to the position of Executive Director on September 6, 2015 and stayed on until his resignation on September 25, 2015. At no time was he resonsible for payroll function. At no time did he ever have authority to sign or manage any corporate bank accounts, and at no time was he ever listed on corporate documents as a corporate officer.The authority and ability to pay or not to pay always resided with the ownership/management of Hopewell Recovery LLC
CRLSS, llc has authority to occupy the premises, and the current ownership of this property is under dispute. I am committed to providing a safe, and sober environement. I regret the demise of Hopewell and the wreckage that occurred, and the damage to those employees who were not paid, however, The Universe House and it's management are quite different, and maintain a committment to Honesty, Openmindedness and Willingness, as business principles.
