 On 7/21/10 my car broke down & I had it towed to Crow's Auto Body at thier new location on Weiss in Canton,Ohio.  The owner of the shop,Edgar Crow informed me I needed a new engine.  I paid $950 for my new engine, he also informed me I needed a new radiator, in which I paid $180 for on 8/9/10-which is the same day Ed Crow, the owner of the shop, upon my request for a copy of the original reciept he purchased the engine from, instead gave me a hand written reciept, which he told me I had a 60 day warantee on.  On his hand written reciept it states the engine was purchased from Triplett LKQ.  I was told by Ed that this engine had 70,000miles on it.  After "fixing" my car he stated that he wanted to keep the car for a few extra days to drive it around to make absolute certain it was all in working order & all fluids were full.



 On 8/23 my car was ready to be picked up.  Ed seemed very concerned about checking the oil & fluids & I stopped in his shop the days following so that he could check the fluids.



 On 8/25 I called him stating that the oil light keeps flashing on & that he broke my headlight while "repairing" my car, I stopped at his shop, he glued the headlight that he broke & quickly fiddled w/the something under the hood stateing as I left "I bet that oil light won't come on anymore".  As soon as I left the shop,the oil light was still on & I called him informing him of this, he told me to drop the car off the following day(8/26/10)so he could get a more in-depth look at it, which I did.  He had my car for a few hours that day, returning it to me stating that he will order a new censor for me & that it was nothing to be concerned about.



 Upon waiting for my new censor, on 9/7 my car broke down again & smoking.  I had it towed to Ed's shop, he called & informed me my engine blew out again, because of a hole in the radiator hose & upon our discussion, he let slip out that he just didn't see the hole when replacing the new radiator & engine, however still stating it was my fault & that I needed to pay for the re-labor.  We had a disagreement over this but with no other option, on 9/10 I agreed to pay partially & work something out with him for re-labor.  He called me back that same day stating that he would give me a loaner car to drive on Monday 13th.



 On Monday when I called him, he said the "lady that had the loaner car" was going to drop it off later that day & he would call me ASAP. He never did. I continued to call him, text & leave him polite messages asking him what was happening with my car & the loaner car.  He NEVER responded back until my fiancee called him from our home #phone number(which he did not know my home phone #)-he did not answer, however, he called back asking who was trying to get a hold of Crow's Auto, my fiancee replyed "This is Erika's fiancee, what's going on with her car? why havn't you returned any of her calls/text? what's the problem?", in which Ed replied "You're my f*king problem & if you don't back off, I will tow her car to her work parking lot in 100 different pieces!"  The conversation escelated & ended w/ my fiancee hanging up.  From there, Edgar Crow did a text to landline phone stateing "See you at Erika's work".  Knowing that my fiancee would have to come pick me up b/c I had no car, Ed Crow sat in my work parking lot waiting for my fiancee to arrive to come pick me up & came in to my work, confronting & trying to fight my fiancee, called me a stupid b***h at least 10 times, had one of his employees there for "back-up" in a large conversion van.  The situation got broke up-Ed continued to text me, stating that if I did not get my car towed out of there, he would send it to impound.



 The following day, I went to his shop, we had a stand-off b/c he wanted me to sign papers, I did not want to until I got a copy of the original reciept for the original motor I bought & the replacement motor-he absolutley refused.  I contacted the local police who told me it was a civil matter.  With no other option & under extreem duress, I signed the paper & under my signature wrote "signed under duress". When my car got towed to a new shop, we attempted to open the hood & it slid off b/c he took the bolts out of the hood & had it towed that way.  After opening the door to my car I smelled the most VILE, DISCUSTING odor, after I inspected the car to find out where this was coming from, I pushed up my driver side seat & took pictures of the GLOB of manoynaise that was purposefully hidden under my seat.  I know this b/c the day before it broke down the 2nd time, in my excitement of finally having my car back ,I vacumed & cleaned the inside of my car-also, I do not eat manoynaise at all!



 This situation has restrained me from getting to work, limiting my income & causeing me extreme sickening stress.  Not to mention I am now incurring many additional costs trying to get my car back in working order seeing as how it was delivered w/ half of the parts in the trunk.  I am asking for help in getting copies of the original reciepts for the motors to keep for my records & to at least have the knowledge of how many miles are on this replacement motor that I paid for & where exactly it came from b/c Ed Crow gave me 2 different salvage yards names-Triplett LKQ & Fox Auto Salvage.  I am also requesting my upholstery to be cleaned to get the discusting smell out of my car. There should have been no reason for anyone at his shop to be eating in the backseat of my car-even though I know this was completley malicious, as was the bolts being left off my car when it got towed to the new mechanic's shop.



 The way the owner of this business has treated me, talked to me, called me names, disruppted & embarassed me at my place of employment & physically threatened my fiancee is appauling & I feel that these requests are very reasonable. Thank You If any further info is needed, please contact me, I have phone & text records of me continuously attempting to contact him for info about my car & the absurd texts he sent me on 9/15 & a time-line of the daily happenings since this situation has escelated. Thank you again

I have no personal grudge against Crow's Auto Body & am making steps towards the report being removed since the matter has been, for a while now, resolved.

I have known Ed Crowe on a professional basis since 2006.  He was initially a client of mine and when I had car trouble I went to him for work.  He has now worked on two of my cars and my boyfriend's and other friends' cars and I could not be more pleased.  He works extremely quickly, communicates with me with updates and accurate price quotes and treats me and the friends I refer to him with courtesy and respect.

The work Mr. Crowe has done for me has always been of the highest quality and he searches very carefully for parts that are the best deal possible.  He has also helped me to find other auto facilities for work outside his area of expertise and told me to tell them that he sent me.  They offered me discounts at the mention of his name and spoke very highly of him, saying that they had enjoyed a long-standing cross-referral relationship with Mr. Crowe and highly respected his work.

I have no personal insight on this woman's experience, but I have no doubt that there is way more to the story than she is telling and that there may be some personal grudge on her part towards Mr. Crowe.  After over 5 years of observing his character, integrity and commitment to excellence I am confident that she has painted a malicious and misleading picture of the incident at hand.

I could not speak highly enough of Mr. Crowe's work ethic and quality service and would and do recommend him to anyone that needs work done on their car.

Customer's complaint went through both the Better Business Bureau and the Atorney General for the State of Ohio. Both of these agencies found that we exhibited the correct actions in trying to make the situation suitable for both parties. I have been in business for 13 years and pride myself on my customer service and have many letters of thank you from satisfied customers posted in my office, many of them are repeat customers. Please remember, there are always two sides to every story.
