I ordered a microwave cart from Sears on March 16, cost $214. I looked on Hayneedle 2 days later and found it for $100 cheaper. I emailed Sears to cancel the order. Received email saying it had already been shipped and they could offer 10% discount or assess for price compare adjustment, if I sent them the email addresses of the cheaper sites. However their email adress do not accept attachments. I notified them of this in an email and they seemed surprised, and agreed that the attachement had indeed been deleted. I then had 4 phone calls (redirected twice, cut off twice) to Cymax. They finally checked the websites I told them about but said they could not match the price as it was below cost.
I was offered either 10% discount or a full refund if I donated the item to a charity, which made not sense at all. While I was in this conversation with Sammy, I was looking on the Sears website and saw that the same item was now being sold for $137. I offered to keep the item at that price but was told that was not possible. So I donated the item to charity and then attempted to get the refund.
I was intructed to email or fax the receipt from the charity to them. Again, their email system does not accept attachments. The fax number did not go through I emailed again, was given another fax number - didn't go through. I am waiting for a reply to my recent letter requesting a physical address so I can try and send it that way.
I get the impression that they are hoping I will just give up.
