Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We bought a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited which is about $ 4,000 more expensive than the "Sport" version. Salesperson at "Airpark" Chrysler Jeep confirmed that the car had leather from "edge to edge" and did not mention that Daimler Chrysler had downgraded the leather to just a few small parts. We believed the sales person, it is not easy to see that most of the parts are made of vinyl and we had inspected a 2004 model which still had real leather from edge to edge.

After having bought the vehicle we first found out that the advertised fuel consumption of 17/ 22 mpg is not true, actually it is about 4-4 miles lower than advertised. Most of the Liberty owners complain about it. The trip computer was also downgraded: the most important feature for us, the "instant fuel mileage" which shows at any moment how much fuel the car is burning, was eliminated without giving notice to the buyer. The 2004 model still had it but probably too many customers were able to actually show the dealer that the car was burning more fuel than advertised. So they just took that function off.

The first day we had the car at home we looked at it from underneath and saw that it already had rusty parts, which were never painted or primed. Daimler Chrysler delivers brandnew vehicles which are already rusty!!!!

We talked to the dealership about these issues and they advised that they are aware of it but no solution was offered. Daimler Chrysler did not offer a solution either, they never joined the "BBB autoline" program which in most cases achieves a solution. The buyer of a Daimler Chrysler product has to spend thousands of dollars for an attorney and sue these liars in court.

Better stay away from Daimler Chrysler from the beginning !

Almost everybody who drives a Liberty complains about the fuel mileage

We don't know if and how Daimler Chrysler bribed EPA but something must be wrong with the 17/22 mpg. Interesting to see that almost every competitor for this product has the same numbers, but only the Jeep Liberty owners are complaining as a large group that these numbers are not correct. If check consumer reports for the Honda Pilot which is supposed to get the same mileage as the Jeep Liberty, you will find that nobody complains that these numbers are not correct, I have seen many reports which describe the fuel mileage for the Honda Pilot as very low. By the way: our complaint to Daimler Chrysler's customer relations department was answered a few days ago: "We agree with your complaint and sympathize with you, but there is nothing what we can do for you..."

EPA ratings

The mileage estimates on the window sticker are just that, estimates. They are provided by the government, and are NOT provided by the manufacturer. There are any number of reasons that a feature can be modified/removed from production. The mileage ratings are just estimates for comparison only, they are not meant to be used as a promise of mileage that you will get.
