We don't know if and how Daimler Chrysler bribed EPA but something must be wrong with the 17/22 mpg. Interesting to see that almost every competitor for this product has the same numbers, but only the Jeep Liberty owners are complaining as a large group that these numbers are not correct. If check consumer reports for the Honda Pilot which is supposed to get the same mileage as the Jeep Liberty, you will find that nobody complains that these numbers are not correct, I have seen many reports which describe the fuel mileage for the Honda Pilot as very low. By the way: our complaint to Daimler Chrysler's customer relations department was answered a few days ago: "We agree with your complaint and sympathize with you, but there is nothing what we can do for you..."

The mileage estimates on the window sticker are just that, estimates. They are provided by the government, and are NOT provided by the manufacturer. There are any number of reasons that a feature can be modified/removed from production. The mileage ratings are just estimates for comparison only, they are not meant to be used as a promise of mileage that you will get.
