I live at The Pointe at Steeple Chase Apartment and there are many things wrong with it but no one seems to care to correct them. When I signed the lease for a year, they told me the apartment is ready for me to move in on June 19, but from the start, a motocycle parked under the starewell where it blocked my entrance into my apartment. That took them couple weeks to solve that problems. Meanwhile, I couldn't move my bed in because of the motocycle blocked my front door, so I sleep on the floor and I got fleas bite me all over. It took me 3 to 4 times flea bombs the apartment.

I told the manager that I wanted to back out of the lease because the apartment is not ready for me to move-in; she told me that she has no authorized to do so and to me, she was like yelling on the phone at me to intimidated me.

The fences in my patio was all roten. A vent in the bathroom is all broken and dark of somewhat look like black moles. Paint on the ceiling in the bathtub is all peeling.

There was no cold water. Yes, no cold water; only hot water. I had to take showers at my parents' home for month before they got it fixed; and now it still takes 5 or 10 minutes before the water get cold.

My water bills are sky high. The first 14 days of the month I moved in, the bill was almost $15, where I didnt even use the water because of the hot water problem. Then the next month, it went up to $27, then $29 and now up to $34. I'm a single person, I spend most of my time at work and school. I only come home to sleep. I hardly wash the dishes, no washer and dryer. I spoke to the manager about it and she said she couldn't help me, I have to email to them and told me they will response. I had email the company 3 times now and still no response from them. Called them 3 times and all I got was the assistant where she told me the person who is in charge of the water bill is busy or in meeting. Left messages on his machine and still no response.

Now, I wonder if the water is safe to use since sometimes it runs milky looking water and my skin gets irritated occasionally which I never had problem before I moved here.

I took all the pictures of the apartment problems when I moved in, included those flea bites. Hopefully, someone out there can help me.

Camille, If you have documented these problems, have photo's etc, then you need to check the web for your County Housing Department. They usually have a document to read, and instructions how how to protect your rights as a tenant. Make sure any letters you send to your landlord are mailed certified mail, so you have proof they received it. If things are as bad as you say, then the courts should be able to assist you in breaking the lease without penalty to you.

Additionally, the refrigerator is all old and rusty, frosted ice is about 4, 5 inches thick because of the broken seals. I had sent many complaint letters and phone calls to the manager and it took them 5 months later since I moved in to replaced with a new one. I will send all the pictures in for your review.
