This auto dealership should be avoided completely. They changed the first payment due date, added gap insurance, disability insurance, warranty. We did not want these items, so after the fact they forged the signature and sent the paperwork in the Toyota financial. We have contacted two Chicago Tv stations and are going to the newspapers next. Possibly the State's Attorney & FBI. Fraud is fraud and forgery is forgery. If you are in the Kankakee county area, stay away from them. If you have purchased a vehicle from this dealership, call the lending company the dealer financed through and get a copy of the papers sent to them. Chances are, you were scammed as well and do not know it.

After investigation, we found no basis to support this complaint. We have served the community since 1987 and have a long, outstanding relationship with our customers. As a FACT, we are among the top in the MidWest Region with our CSI (Customer Service Index) where a 3rd party surveys customers that have purchased vehicles here at David Bruce. As there are many elements during the vehicle purchase we take pride in integrity and doing everything possible for the customer to have the most positive experience. Many of our customers come to us for the ease of doing business without games and gimmicks. I have put a few quotes below that customers have left for us that can also be found at our website http://www.davidbruce.com/testimony.html "Thank you so much for all your help and understanding of my situation. You have given 'car salesman/financing' a new definition in my dictionary!! You were great to me and to my little guy when we came in last week. David Bruce is privilaged to have you on their side! All of you put me at ease from the first second of the first time I walked through your doors. I feel like part of the David Bruce family. When I'm ready to part with my new love (the Grand Prix) I will DEFINATELY return to see you for a replacement. I will, however, be in to visit from time to time!" Stephanie Bach, Bourbonnais "Thanks for being such a great salesman. Compared to the other Toyota dealers, I feel I was treated fairly and honestly and that you really wanted me to be happy with my decision. I love the fact that if I do have to have work on the car (please don't let this happen any time soon), that your dealership with provide a loaner. This is a deal making service!" Thanks again so much. Melinda ---Happy Toyota Prius Owner! Melinda Morgan, Shorewood, IL "Just a short note to say how pleased I am with your courteous, efficient, and accommodating staff. I originally had reservations about buying a car from a dealer more than 100 miles away from home, but your fine service--not to mention a great deal--convinced me that when its time to purchase my next vehicle, your dealership will be the first place I'll look. Thank you." -Thomas E. Johnson, Illinois Pollution Control Board, Springfield, IL "I recently purchased a pre-owned Equinox from your dealership. I am very pleased, not only with the auto purchased, but with the salesman we had, Jason Connor. I don't enjoy the process of purchasing a vehicle, but Jason made the occasion much more palatable than usual! Please extend my thanks to Jason for a job well done. I pastor a church in Bourbonnais and have told others how pleased I was with the experience. Thanks again!! Pastor Greg Eilders, Bourbonnais, IL "Thanks for the customer service provided to my wife and I. Considering the thought process going into purchasing a vehicle, your knowledge and ability to process the customer requests and maneuver beyond, major yet minor obstacles, should be a great asset to David Bruce Auto as well as Toyota. Again, thank you. Grossinger/Chicago and Thomas/Joliet and surrounding dealerships have competition with David Bruce Auto. You all just don't advertise. When friends and family ask, we will give them your number. CONTINUED SUCCESS!! The Salonis-Young Family, Joliet, IL "I just wanted to say is was a pleasure working with Dave Sosnowski on the Toyota Highlander purchase. My only problem is trying to convince my daughter that it is not HERS!! :-) I would not hesitate to send anyone I know looking for a car to head your way. Thanks again and I look forward to receiving the Toyota Survey to fill out and give you the credit you deserve!!" Steve Jarvie, Frankfort, IL "Dear David Bruce, I would like to let you know that my experience of buying my Pontiac Vibe was the single best experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. My experience was quick, easy, no pressure, with complete information. My sales consultant was fantastic. I have always been a bit apprehensive whenever I purchased cars and trucks in the past, not so at David Bruce. I was completely at ease with my salesman. He was friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and patient with all my questions. When it comes time to trade in my wife's van, I will defiantly come back to David Bruce, and I will look you up to help me again. Thank you very much for a very pleasant car buying experience. I LOVE MY VIBE!! Miles Turner, Manteno, IL "Hello my name is Don Kuplerski,I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee from Jason Connor. This letter is long overdue. I just want to say that I am very happy with my Jeep, and I'm very happy with my whole purchase experience, from my first phone call to Jason to the closing at your finance department your dealership did everything right, your a great group of people. I also want to thank your service department, although I didn't meet any of them I know they played part in making everything go right. I never got to meet Jason face to face, but D'arcy did a great job answering all my questions and reassuring me that I was buying a good Jeep, and that ment a lot after driving 348mi. to buy it. so hats off to David Bruce Auto Center on doing a great job, and I would definitly consider you in the future. Sincerely, Don Kuplerski "I just wanted to drop this note to say what an asset I think Janelle is to your dealership. I took delivery of my new Camry and I am thrilled with it. Janelle made my car purchase so pleasant and painless by giving me her expert advise and going out of her way to answer any questions. Since I took delivery, I received two phone calls to make sure everything is satisfactory and to see if I had any questions about operatiing the car. I will make sure that I recommend her to all my friends that are interested in purchasing automobiles." Mary Fran Gobby, Tinley Park, IL "Once again, I would like to thank you and the team for your excellent and professional service. I am really enjoying my new Toyota Corolla! You all are awesome. I would gladly recommend David Bruce Auto Center to my family and friends. It's nice to receive quality service with a smile!!" Tamara Broadnax, Alsip IL "Thanks so much for your help in getting me into a car. I had been searching for a while and you made it a great experience for me. Driving home down I57 in my new Solara was an awesome feeling. Thanks so much and I will refer some business to your dealership!" Marybeth Byrne, Chicago IL "Kudos' to your service department. I recently had my 2000 Toyota Tundra Truck serviced and I must say that it runs like new. After a thorough examination of the work performed, I have concluded that I received excellent service and quality work. A very special thanks to Mr. Steven Lach, the service consultant. Keep up the good work and thank you again." Roosevelt Smyly, Bourbonnais, IL

Nothing has been done from any agency. Finance manager and sales manager both admitted to our attorney they did in fact alter the contract and forge the signature!!!!!! Attorney General claims now a civil case. Must go through local Police and they must file charges to go to States's attorney. Local police (BOURBONNAIS, IL) have had since October and have done NOTHING. This is definately a "BUBBA FACTOR" corruption. LOCAL POLICE ARE IN NO-WAY GOING TO PROSECUTE A LOCAL BUSINESS. They have got his back covered. Sec of State claims not their jurisdiction. No response from Toyota or General Motors. Went to NBC5 Chicago. Said they were interested and I would be contacted shortly. That was early February. No response. Sent to FBI in February, no response yet. Is it now legal to commit forgery and fraud? I guess if you have enough money. Obviously everyone has their price. What is going on in this country? What happened to honest people buying from an honest business? It appears to be a thing of the past. At least in Kankakee County Illinois it is.

Contact the Illinois Secretary of State's Office (Jesse White) and file a complaint through the Secretary of State Police. They investigate criminal activity regarding car dealers in Illinois and if you can PROVE forgery, they'll get raked over the coals-fines plus probably have their right to do business suspended for a time. Good luck & keep us posted. Banker John

I have contacted an attorney and the attorney generals office. So far nothing is being done. Attorney general says not enough monetary loss to pursue. I am concerned that this dealer is going to continue to commit fraud and forgery. I am in the process of preparing letters to the state's Attorney and the FBI.

Why worry about the TV stations and newspapers

This is fraud, plain and simple. You need to contact the DMV, if you can prove it was forgery, and have their license revoked. You also need to contact an attorney. Forget the newspapers. If the dealer did what you say they did, they are criminals, and need to be treated as such.
