Like several other reports have stated, they have a reputation of forcing purchases on customers.

Be aware of this BEFORE you go into their store, or any bridal store for that matter. While yes with most gowns you may need a special bra (like a strapless bra) you do NOT have to purchase one from them. They will tell you you have to buy theirs in order for it to fit with their gowns, you can purchase a strapless bra for MUCH cheaper in your local department store and they will work with your gown.

Also be aware of their alteration fees, they are outragious! And decent seamstress or tailor can do the work for a much cheaper fee.

And yes they have a No Return policy, be aware!!!!!

Also they have a tendancy to not inform you of the prices of accessories (veils, shoes, bags, ect) and most of it is outragiously priced.

I will say I was very pleased with the gown I purchased and the bridesmaids gowns, but that is ALL I bought!

If it wasn't for this company, I would not have had a wedding dress. I gave them 1 and 1/2 months(which anyone knows is cutting it way too close)to help me pick out my wedding dress and I am thankful for this company. Maybe the bad experiences you had was due to you not knowing exatcly what type of dress you wanted? If you want bad servioce, try coming to Pueblo,Colorado and going to any of the bridal stores here. David's Bridal I cannot thank them enough for saving my wedding day. If it wasn't for them, I would have had a 50$ dress that I paid over 1300 for. I got the most immaculate dress from them and only paid 650 for it, including all my undergarments. This was a fraction of what the other dress was. As I stated before, maybe the bad experience was due to them trying to be overly helpful and trying to find the right dress that they thought might have been flattering for you. After all, they are dress consultants. They know what looks best...

David's bridal has never twisted anyone's arm and "forced" them to make purchases. As Bridal Consultants we are all very dilligently trained in sales and yes, there are even several techniques we use to "make the sale." It's our job to sell wedding dresses and while an immense part of that job is the fun of getting to know brides and helping them find their dream dress, I'd like to keep my job as well. I don't sell headpeices and undergarments to brides, and that's not quality selling. i.e. I don't have a job anymore and they find someone else who can. Wearing a basic strapless bra with your wedding gown absolutely does not give you the shape that our Falina longline bras do. In fact, it's because of these bras that a lot of the brides I help on a daily basis can even fit into their gowns. It smooths out their torso so that the dress can zip. Without the Falina longline, there's a LOT of strain on that zipper when you are the average american woman: a size 14. Yes, part of selling bras is because it's my job. A bigger part of it is because you really do need it to make your dress look the best it can. $70 really isn't all THAT much when it comes to looking your best on your wedding day and you'd pay the exact same price for a similar bra in any other department store. I know because I've looked. Alterations cost what they do because you are working with SPECIALISTS. These women are trained specifically to work with wedding gowns; OUR wedding gowns. They know the merchandise and are intimately working with it on a day to day basis. You pay top dollar for top results. Also, no where else can gurantee you a full replacement dress for completely free if there are any mistakes on the part of the alterations department. Complain and take your dress to the dry cleaners for a hem if you're brave enough, but most women are happy to have their dress in the hands of the best. We're not trying to rob anyone. Our headpeices are top of the line tulle and swarovski crystal. If you want a cheaper veil, It will be made of less than premium tulle and will look just as cheap as it costs. The cheaper the tulle, the looser the weave, the easier it tears. The Final Sale policy is very clearly stated on every receipt. If you aren't happy to sign the Final Sale contract on the sales reciept at the end of purchase, all you have to do is refuse to sign, and all your merchandise will be refunded back to you and you can take your business elsewhere. Every peice of merchandise we have in the store is designed for use in WEDDINGS. Allowing returns of any kind would be completely rediculous. If you change your mind about any purchase you can always exchange it within 90 days for equal value. What's so bad about that? It seems to me that you were looking for everything to be cheap, cheap, cheap; bargain, bargain, bargain. We have extremely competetive prices for anything of similar quality in the market. Anyone who can afford to charge less, unless purchasing warehouse direct, is simply using cheaper materials. I think metal and rhinestones just look sad next to our silver and crystal and they definitely don't sparkle in your pictures like ours do.....but I suppose that's just my opinon. Just thought I should clarify those things for you. If you want a bargain wedding for bargain prices, try eBay. 85% of our customers are completely satisfied with our service.

I am simply warning some brides that their practices tend to be very pushy! The bridal veil I looked at had no price tag and the price I was "quoted" by a sales person was not what was rang up at the counter. There was a difference for over $50.00! I am aware of the practice of not returning a wedding gown, it is the other items like a garter or wedding album that is unresonable. And no, at the time of my visit there were NO visible signs advertizing this policy. Do not assume I am a ignorant shopper. I am a college educted woman that does not appreciate pushy and rude salespeople!

Sounds like you have quite a flair for the dramatic! Since when are common sales tactics considered a rip off? You yourself stated that you bought your dress at this store and were "very pleased." It doesn't sound like they ripped you off at all. Yes they have bras for sale, and no you do not HAVE to buy one. It is recommended that you buy one however, as you can easily try it on along with the dress to make sure it fits properly and looks okay when paired with the dress. Yes you can buy one at a department store for "cheaper" but then you couldn't try it on with your dress unless you haul your dress all over town. At any rate, you had a CHOICE, you were never forced to buy their bra, and you chose not to. Case closed. Also how is a "no return" policy a rip off? It is clearly stated all over the sales counter and their website, AND can be clarified if you simply open your mouth and ask. I challenge you to find ONE store that allows wedding dresses to be returned. If wedding dresses could be returned then many brides would take advantage and return their dresses for a full refund the day after the wedding. "Not informing customers of the prices of accessories"? What is there to "inform" you about when every item in the store is clearly marked with a price tag attached to it? Again, if you were uncertain you could have ASKED for clarification. Do you expect the salesperson to hold the price tag up to your eye and "inform" you what it says? Again if you are not satisfied with the prices of dresses, accessories, alterations, etc. you could have simply taken your business elsewhere. No one forced you to do business with this company, and the company is under no obligation to lower their prices to suit your cheap nature. This is clearly a frivolous complaint as there is NO evidence of any rip off occurring. Sounds like you were disappointed when you realized you could not fund a decent wedding on a beer budget.
