My wedding is August 17, 2008. I purchased my dress from Davids Bridal in January. I had to order it and they told me it would be in by May. I had to pay the dress in full. I went for my first fitting in May and I had my first alterations scheduled for late June. Each time, they cancelled my alteration. I paid for my alteration in full as well in May. My alteration was again scheduled for July 18. I had gone to Davids Bridal the previous Thursday night with my mom and my sister, my sister is my maid of honor and my mom was getting herself a dress for my special day. When my sister tried on her Maid of Honor dress, they had took it in to much. They told her it was her fault because she had gained weight. My sister has not gained a pound. They admitted to thier mistake, but now my sister is out a dress and we have to hope and pray they get it in and altered before my day. They also told me I cannot be seen for my alteration until August 12. That is 5 days before my wedding.

Each time I was there, I witnessed at least 2 brides to be or bridesmaids engaged in screaming acts because they got everything wrong. I also told the woman who measured me for my alterations that I was unable to move or sit down in the dress that arrived. She told me it was normal and that I am not suppose to sit down on my wedding day. The dress I tried on in January did not inhibit me like the one they ordered for me. I wanted to return my dress but they told me they will not do so. They said they would exchange it for another dress in the store. I tried on just about every dress and nothing made me feel like the dress i dreamt about. I told them I just want my money back. They said they cannot. It is thier policy to take your money 8 months before you get your dress and stick you with horrible product and horrible service. If they we able to take my dress back and exchange it, why cant they give me back my money? There is nothing pleasant about the place or the people who work there. my wedding is 4 weeks away and I am stuck with a horrorshow of a dress and they simply dont care.

I spoke with Heidi Miller in the customer service department and she basically said it was my fault for ordering the dress.

hello, well that really is a bad thing to hear about. what the girl should have done is measured you because the dresses in the store get tried on and larger people always try to put a dress two sizes too small on because bridal runs very small so when you ordered the dress it was cut to that size measerment. thats why it fit so tight. and yes we do have really crapy rules agianst returns this is because the really crapy cheap people in the world who want to buy a dress that you only can wear once then return it. so if we did returns then we would not staty in buisness. make sense. and yes some davids are liers i always hear people telling me things other davids tell them thats crazy but at the store i work at in san diego we treat people great and are very fair to people as far as we can be because the managers just cant do somethings or they will lose their jobs, that means no money for their familys and so on do you really think thats worth it?? hell no so they just follow the rules. so sorry all this happen and i read these things all the time because i do care about my brides so much and their day and i want to know what problems other people are having so the people i help do not have the same problems.
