This is my story, I attended and graduated from BCTI in June of 2000. I never graduated high school, I was a stay at home mom and didn't know what I was going to do with my life, so one day walking out of the Department of Social Services I was approached by some people who started to tell me about BCTI what A great school this is, How they would help me find a good job in the computer field. So I decided I would go check it out, I was given the tour of the different classes, Instructors, and so on It seemed to be great so I signed up & started the morning classes, the first two weeks I didn't learn anything, I remember my first period teacher who all she would do is talk about her personal life, another instructor who was teaching a class for about 2 months & then he left, we where given another instructor which felt like we had to learn the basics all over again. I was in a class of about 12 students, after several months went by the students just started leaving the program. I also remember that several students in my class received a check from financial aid and I didn't. After "graduating" I went to search for a job and everywhere I went I showed them my certificate I no one even acknowledged it, I was soooo disappointed that I worked so hard so could accomplish something, And I was never acknowledged. It was a waste of money & time and I don't recommend no one to attend BCTI and be dissapointed like me.

If I chose a career education and it's not benefiting me, I'm not gonna blame the school

HMMMMMMMMM..AGAIN!!! Recommending to not attend BCTI is noble of you, BUT for anyone to even try to attend BCTI right now would be close to impossible (seeing as they don't exist anymore). Now if you'd listen to your parents while you were growing up (assuming they cared about your education), you wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. Think of it as the chicken-egg scenario. If you finished public schooling K-12 (tuition free), then I would assume you would have been able to go to some type of college 2-year or four-year program. But because you decided to drop out high school (which is NOT BCTI's fault), you chose another alternative which was BCTI education. When you realized other students were leaving BCTI because they weren't learning, but you didn't (when your weren't learning either, that's wasn't BCTI's fault. I am not defending BCTI, but I'm just making you and every ex-BCTI aware that BCTI was a school. It wasn't a facility that chose your fate and/or decided your fate. You chose it. BCTI was your choice. If I chose a career education and it's not benefiting me, I'm not gonna blame the school, I'm gonna blame myself. I blame myself for two reasons: I chose the wrong career field and I chose to learn from that school and didn't leave. And lastly, don't blame motherhood as a reason why you didn't finish school. It wasn't your kid's fault and again, that was your choice. And other's have excelled from being a teen-mom without going to BCTI.
